The gem, weak from getting tossed and turned from the crashing waves, lay on the sands of planet Earth.
Her neon red hair was full of pebbles and fragments of shells. She saw multiple scratches on the yellow skin of her arm. She winced in agony when she felt her gem ache, but luckily there wan't a crack. The gem coughed up seawater and sand as she looked around for a place to stay, until she healed so she could go back into the ocean.
The short, yellow gem attempted to stand up, only to fall down again onto the wet sand.
"Must…find…gems," she muttered as she balanced herself on two feet to feel the scorching heat of the sun.
Her clothes were tattered and still soaking wet, dripping with every step. The gem gagged, with every heavy, salty breath. She needed to find a way to get back out there. A way away from here.
There.
The gem found herself standing in front of a house, the kind that humans live in. Good.
Overlooking the house was a giant statue of what appeared to be a gem. This meant that the house was also a temple for gems. Even better.
Her legs ached as she trudged up the wooden stairs of the beach house. Water gushed from her ears as she gritted her teeth, cried a little, and desperately banged on the screen door of the house.
The door opened just as the gem had passed out. During her last moments of consciousness, she saw the three figures, lifting her up, and placing her down on a soft surface. Five minutes had passed when the she woke up.
"Is she awake?" asked the shortest gem, who waved an arm over the guest's face. "Why does she look so familiar?"
Another gem approached. "You know what? I really feel I've seen this face before."
The third gem loomed over like a tower, and just stared at the gem's red hair, and then into her eyes.
"…exactly. The height, the face, the body structure, the placement of her gem, I could have sworn I saw this gem before-wait a second.." The skinny gem suddenly had a shocked look on her face. The short and tall gems both looked at her and had the same reaction.
"AMETHYST WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! IS THIS PAINT!"
"Yup. You got me Pearlie Pie." Amethyst wiped the yellow paint off her face with her hand.
Steven was making a "shocking plot twist" expression on his face. "Amethyst? I almost didn't recognize you with your hair dead-I mean dyed like that. What's going on?"
"Well Steven, I can give you the whole enchilada, but right now, I need some more face paint, and a new surfboard…by…tomorrow…" The purple gem, still aching, finally dozed off, staining the couch with paint.
