"Once and for all, we'll settle who's the fastest in the universe!"
"Your own, but I'll win for sure! After all, I am the fastest thing that's ever lived!"
In the distance, a crowd was cheering loudly,. The two racers, Sonic the Hedgehog and Jet the Hawk, along with two others, were walking to the starting line. In the crowds, people were holding signs for either Sonic or Jet, the two who seemed most likely to win. The set course, Megalo Station, was open and ready for zero gravity racing.
Sonic nad Jet finished there rants and stood at the beginning of the starter line. The two others, who didn't draw any attention towards themselves, were slightly behuind the two stars.

The four racers backed up from the line 50 meters.

Sonic stopped backing up, while Jet continued another meter.

Suddenly, all four of them started walking, then running towards the started line.
Go!
Both Sonic and Jet speed through and hooped on their gears, racing towards the slope and jumping off of it perfectly, landing them on the next area of the board. The two speedsters were neck and neck, dodging the SCR-GP that sprung to life and headed towards them.
At first sight, Sonic jumped to the rail and started grinding on it, which Jet missed. One of the other riders, wearing a tan, tattered cloak, zipped passed Jet, creating an air stream behind him. Using the oppurtinty, Jet rode on the stream, pulling off X-ranked tricks. He landed fully on the pavement and rode passed the tan cloaked racer.
At that time, Sonic and the other racer, wearing an exact same outfit as the other racer, except it was black, were at the jump, both landing at the highrise part of he next area of the board. Jet and the tan cloaked racer quickly caught up with the leading pair.
As they neared the end, the cloaked racers jumped on the rail, leading them to the area under. On the other hand, Jet and Sonic both took a sharp turn and got to the jump, both performing deatch-defying stunts. Landing on the floating platform, they raced to the other jump, and yet again, performed another set of great tricks in the air.
Not even 100 meters away, both Sonic and Jet were edging closer and closer to the finish line. There was no definte answer who would win, 1st place kept going in between the two of the speed demons, causing the crowd to grow quiet with anticpation, then loud at the performance of the two.
It was not even fifty meters left of the race when the noise of a robot seeming to come to life, started going off behind them.
Both Sonic and Jet were so close to winning, that they were suck in there own world, trying to show each other who was the best. Unfortunely for them, they didn't hear the next words that would end the race.
"Unleash Gravity!!" Everything seemed to stop for a few seconds, as two burst of speed flew past the two stars, the orce of the speed, pushing back Jet so Sonic got to the finish line before him.
As Sonic walked towards the two cloaked racers, he heard a deep chuckle coming from the black one, who had come in 1st place.
"It seems you've forgotten all about me, blue hedgehog. A faker like you can't be considered, the fastest of them all." The voice sounded dark and full of ego. Sonic's eyes grew the size of saucers as he realized who had beaten him.
"S-Shadow?!" The black racer grabbed his cloak, and swung it off himself, revealing himself to be the Ulitmate Lifeform himself. The tan one uncloaked himself to be---
"Emerl?! B-But, wh-what, uh, huh?! I don't..."
"Calm yourslef, Faker. This little Grand Prix of ours has only begun. Keep your head in the game, don't make this too easy for me."
