Blue
Seto Kaiba opens his eyes. He sits up on his bed. Where is he? His brow wrinkles. All around him he just sees blue.
Seto gets up and wanders around. There is blue, everywhere, nothing else. No horizon, no landmarks. Absolutely nothing.
A waste of time.
But it is probably no use to stay in one place. So Seto Kaiba starts walking, wondering where on Earth he is. If he even is on Earth anymore. Is someone trying to kill him again? On the other hand this place doesn't look at all dangerous. Only way he could die here seems of boredom.
He walks. He doesn't know for how long, or how far, because he couldn't measure time nor distance, in this endless blue.
Suddenly he sees a woman. She is walking towards him. Seto stops. The woman looks weird, she is very pale, and her long hair is very light blue color. She is dressed in long white simple dress. She fits here perfectly, blue and white woman in endless blue. She stops in front of Seto, and studies him for a while with her clear blue eyes.
She seems to recognize him.
"Seto," she whispers, and a smile spreads to her face.
"Who are you?" Seto asks. He has a nagging feeling in the back of his head that he should know this woman.
"Seto," she repeats. She tilts her head. "Don't you remember me?"
Seto finds it best not to answer.
The woman's smile fades. When she speaks again her voice is desperate:
"But you must remember me!"
Seto shakes his head. He should remember her. Why? Is she special? Seto gazes at the blue eyes, full of tears. Maybe she had been special.
The woman wraps her arms around Seto and pulls him into a desperate longing hug.
"You must remember me," she whispers in his ear. "You can not…" She wraps her hands more tightly around him. He can't answer her embrace. Because he can't remember her.
"You have forgotten, you have forgotten," the woman continues, and Seto feels the tears soaking his clothes. He wants to say something, anything, to comfort the woman, to make her stop crying. But he can't. He has forgotten.
Slowly the woman's embrace loosens, as she drops to the floor, and lets her tears flow freely. The tears drop down her cheek and onto the blue floor. As they hit it, they leave a gray mark. Soon the gray starts spreading and as the blue is replaced with gray the woman seems to fade away. And he just stands there, unable to do anything, because he can't remember what he is supposed to do.
The woman disappears, breathing out one last whisper:
"You have forgotten me."
Seto is left alone in gray world. He looks around himself and sees nothing but gray. He starts walking.
Seto Kaiba opens his eyes. He sits up on his bed. Part of dreams, blue dreams and gray dreams, flashes in his mind before fading into oblivion, forgotten, forgotten.
You have forgotten me.
Seto's brow wrinkles. He stands up and walks to the window. Gently he pulls the cream colored curtains aside.
The sky is filled with gray heavy clouds.
Gray...
...not blue.
Seto Kaiba closes the curtains, and continues his life.
