I've decided to show that no matter how much of a perfect crimefighter he is, the Batman still can't cook :P That's when Alfred (or Clark for that matter) steps in to save the day. I also wanted to show the side of him that's more human, even adorable, cos you know, since I'm a woman I just have to turn every badass into a purring kitten ;D
I hope I made his "adorable-ness" realistic enough since I didn't even make him say "I love you" directly. I don't know, he still seems pretty much in-character to me, so I hope you guys enjoy this short ficlet! :)
Clark sat up and stretched his arms, glancing first at the empty spot next to him and then at the alarm clock. 6AM sharp. Bruce is up at 6AM? The same Bruce that complains about his boyfriend rising and shining like the sun itself? The same Bruce that just spent the entire night patrolling the streets of Gotham?
Clark rose to his feet and inhaled sharply, taking in the smell coming from the next room. Fresh coffee...and something burning. Slightly, but still burning. He rushed into the next room only to be greeted by a chain of curses coming from behind the kitchen counter. A big grin spread across his face instantly. Bruce, still clad in his Bat-suit, was standing at the cooker, desperately trying to move a half-burnt pancake onto a plate.
Unable to restrain himself, he quipped: "You, know, I'd never thought that something as simple as cooking would be the one thing that the Batman can't do."
"Good morning to you too, Clark." said the other man as if he hasn't heard him.
"You didn't even consider getting some sleep yet, did you?"
"No. I wanted to surprise you." replied Bruce as he started preparing the next pancake.
Clark's grin turned into a loving smile as he slipped in front of the cooker and hugged his boyfriend from behind.
"Thank you, love. I think I can handle the rest myself." he said as he kissed him on the cheek softly. "You go get some sleep now."
"Alright." said the other man, kissing him back.
