Hello, I'm new to making fanfics, so please complain if I'm doing something wrong, but don't be too hard on me.
Leafpool opened her eyes slowly, trying to take in all the light. The sun shown brightly, casting beautiful dancing shadows as a soft breeze ruffled the tree leaves.
She then noticed Crowfeather curled up in a small, black bundle of fur. Assuming he was still asleep, Leafpool was afraid of moving too much in case he would wake up.
Leafpool sighed quietly and rested her head on her paws. They had been walking for what seemed like moons. She was glad they stopped to take a nap, after wandering around in the dark.
She wondered what mischief Squirrelflight might be in at that moment. A huge wave of sadness crashed onto Leafpool, making her want to whimper. She sat there and remembered the times they spent together.
Her thoughts of Squirrelflight quickly disappeared when Crowfeather shifted slightly, still asleep. Crowfeather was facing straight at Leafpool and his eyelids twitched. Then he slowly got up and arched his back, yawning widely. "I'm gonna go hunting.
Do youwant to come?"
Leafpool didn't feel hungry, but she knew she had to eat before the long journey. She licked his ear playfully. "Sure, I'd like to come."
So off they went to find a fat mouse or two. Crowfeather began stalking up quietly on Leafpool, who jumped at leasta full twofeet in the air, as he pounced on her.
"Great Starclan!" She meowed, watching Crowfeather trying his very hardest not to burst out laughing. Leafpool, now embarrassed, told him that he was going to scare all the prey in the forest.
Leafpool suddenly saw a vole. She carefully made sure that the wind was blowing in the right direction, and crouched low to creep up on it. Crowfeather disappeared, exploring. Just as she was about to pounce onher unsuspecting prize, Crowfeather
called,
"Leafpool!" This startled the vole, and it fluttered away without looking back.
"You've just scared away our dinner!" Leafpool cried. Crowfeather's eyes flashed hurt. Leafpool now felt quite guilty, so she told him she was really sorry for saying that.
"So, why did you call me?" Crowfeather kneaded the ground nervously and was suddenly interested in his paws. "I-I wanted you to see if this would make a good nest for us to live in... " Crowfeather still had his fur all ruffled up fromLeafpool's
vole.
Leafpool relaxed as her anger quickly faded. The vole was soon forgotten as Crowfeather showed her a wide tree with a hollow big enough to crawl into. The hollow opened up wide to reveal a small, dim and cozy place. On the left was a cornerthatcouldkeep
afresh-kill pile, and straight forward was a shelf stretching from the back end, low enough to leap onto. The shelf made a great place to sleep.
"Wow, Crowfeather! I guess you're not as big of amouse-brain as I thought." Crowfeather glared at her playfully before returning to look around happily at his new find.
