Blood Alone

Chapter 1 - The Horror

"Daddy, Daddy! Where's Mommy?"

The little ravenette asks. the natural ginger lock of hair that came from her mother's genes is tucked behind her ear. She inherited a wonderful trait where she could have two different eye colors. Her left eye was a soft amber, just like her mothers. The right eye was a vibrant dark grey that had a hint of blue, her father's eye color.

The little girl looked up, realizing that her father had yet to answer her question. He rarely ever came home nowadays and his green cloak had blood sploches. "Daddy?" Her whisper came out as a soft whimper and her father crouched down to her level. "Oh Riva..." He hugged her tightly and Riva hugged back, still slightly confused by this action. "I cleaned up the house while you and Mommy were gone, Grandma and even Grandpa helped. I even cleaned up my toys." She stated quietly. Her father only hugged her tighter till she felt something cold hit her shoulder. Riva tensed up, was her father...Crying? It's impossible! He's humanity's strongest shoulder, he would never cry!

"Daddy, why isn't mommy with you?" The little girl had finally had the gut to ask. Whereever this was going, she knew that this conversation would only end in a train wreck. Her father tensed up. He leaned back a bit and pulled out something from his uniform pocket.

It was a Scouting Regiment badge.

"D-Don't tell...That's Mommy's isn't it..."

He only nodded. Riva looked at it in horror and held out her hands to hold it. Levi set it in her hands and Riva's tiny fingers curled around it. "I'll be right back!" she exclaimed, setting the Wings Of Freedom badge right back into her father's hands. She ran down the hall heading towards her room. Currently, her grandma and grandpa(Or Petra's parents) were out shopping. They left her all alone and to her surprise her daddy came back to visit. Only this time, her mother wasn't with him. Which could only mean one thing.

Death.

She swung open the door, the waft of cinnamon filling her nose. She scurried over to her bedside table, picking up the picture of her Mother, Father and herself. She opened her drawer and pulled out an empty small picture frame. "This'll do." She nodded and ran back out into the hall way towards the front door, the picture frames in her arms. Her father looked down at her as she ran up to him. She snatched the badge from his arms which surprised him, and Riva put the badge in the spare picture frame.

A perfect fit.

"It may have some blood stains on it, but Mommy always watches over us. She wouldnt want us to be sad." The ravenette said with an almost real smile. She needed to be cheerful for her father. She needed to cheer him up. She had no time to mourn.

"What do you mean, my daughter's dead?!" Mr. Ral slammed his fork and knife down on the table. Riva only scratched at her food, trying so hard to ignore their conversation. Levi only nodded, taking a bite of the bread on his plate. Ms. Ral was crying into her sleeves. "That's absurd! Weren't you with her captain?" Mr. Ral questioned. That's when Levi began his explanation.

"No, we got seperated from the huge down pour of rain. I was searching for my squad but by the time I finally found them, they were all slaughtered." (Note, Eren wasn't with them when the slaughter happened, and the slaughter wasn't caused by Annie either. Eren was with Mikasa and Armin and the time. I know its confusing but yah lol just deal.)

"I-I see... Still! Why couldnt you protect her!" Mr. Ral shouted. Riva tensed up. "Please dear! It wasn't his fault!" Ms. Ral pleaded her husband.

"Excuse me."

They all looked at Riva, who stood up from her seat. "Wait-"

Riva only ignored her grandfather's words as she picked up her plate and set it on the kitchen counter. She then silently walked towards her room, shutting the door quietly behind her.

The little girl walked over to her bed, plopping down on the sheats. Riva picked up her family picture and stared at it for a good while. She let out a sigh and hugged it close to her body as she rolled over,"Why did you have to go, mommy..." She whispered into the picture, hoping that her mother would just return,

but she couldn't.

"Riva?" Levi knocked on his daughter's door twice before entering. "Yes Daddy?" The 7 year old looked up as she lay on her bed. He walked over to her and hugged her,"Sorry about dinner. I have something to ask you, it would be a huge cause of change though." This seemed to have caught her attention.

Riva rolled over on her stomach and rest her head in her hands, kicking her legs back in forth,"Oooh, like what?" Levi sat on the edge of her bed,"I was wondering if you'd like to come live in the Levi's Squad castle. It's pretty empty now and it could do some living up to."

Riva's eyes shone,"Really? You'd let me do that? What about Commander Erwin, what did he say?"

"Dont worry about huge eyebrows." Her father muttered. "Anyway, do you want to go or not?"

"Hmm..." Riva thought for a moment,"Of course! If it means being with daddy more then yes!" Levi gave her a smal smile before patting her on the head,"Alright, just go ahead and get your stuff ready, we'll be leaving first thing tomorrow morning. I'll go ahead and go tell your Grandparents your descision."

Riva smiled widely,"Sure!"

Levi then left the room leaving Riva excited. This is going to be so much fun!

So uh, how was it? :3 I mean, i was about to cry while writing this cause im an emotional baby. I just ship Levi and Petra so much so why not have them have a daughter? ISN'T SHE ADORBS? *-*

Well anyway tell me what you think about it! I have a lot in store for this :)

It may be quite short but i promise to make the next chapter longer!
