"You've always been so confident, so brave. Well. Are you scared now?" Nico asked, his voice cold and calculating. A smirk was planted on his face, which was splashed with the blood of his victims. He had his single sword drawn, the pointed tip aimed at Percy Jackson's exposed neck.
Percy raised his eyes to stare into Nico's, which didn't waver at the sight of Percy's tears. As they stood there in that position, the camp that Percy had grown to love burned around them, cinders falling to the ground as all the structures collapsed within themselves; all of them being eaten by tongues of Greek fire. No screams were heard, they all stopped hours ago as they were massacred by the one that now stood in font of him. Percy was the last one living, but not for long.
"You can never make me scared." Percy lied, but his voice remained strong. "You can never win this fight. The gods will stop you."
Nico actually laughed out loud, just like he had when he slit Hazel's throat. His eyes flickered with maddness, all sanity gone from his soul. Percy knew there was no saving the boy.
And there was no saving Percy.
"The gods can't stop me." Nico snarled, licking the blood off his lips. "They are weak, fearful. I would beat them in an instant, and they know it. I will be the cause of their downfall."
"No you won't." Percy replied, glaring up at the body of the boy he used to know. "A mere mere mortal cannot kill a god."
"And that's where you're mistaken." Nico kneeled down to face him, keeping his sword planted on his throat. "I am not a mere mortal anymore. I am a lieutenant of Chaos, and soon, I will even take over that kingdom. Nothing can stop me now. I hold no mercy, just like he taught me."
"You're insane." Percy told him truthfully. "You are absolutely insane. What happened to you? You just murdered hundreds of people and you're glad about it! You killed your own sister!"
"I did." Nico agreed, showing his teeth, which were stained red. "I did kill her. It was quite...fun. Her blood tasted the best. But I'm thinking yours will taste even better."
He stuck his face in Percy's. "Your time has come, Percy Jackson. Goodbye."
And then he struck, hacking away at the body as the blood splashed she the screams filled the air.
