The Wonder of God's Sky Above
Tonight's the night. Ooh, it's a crisp, clear, black night.
The wind is cold but it is softly blowing on my face.
I close my eyes as I smile and take in a chilling breath.
I open my eyes and look up to the sky. God's creation is beautiful!
Twinkling, sparkling stars fill the sky as far as the eye can see.
The stars are a magnificent contrast against the pure black vastness.
They sparkle like the purest diamonds, flashing you their biggest smile.
One can't help but stare. It's sure to take your breath away.
My gaze travels throughout the night sky and I follow it from star to star.
As I follow the bright beams that light up the night sky,
I stop and behold a great wonder that stands out far from the rest.
What is this wonder, you say? It is none other than the marvelous moon.
Eye popping, so full and round on this one particular night.
It is much bigger than the stars that surround it.
The moon, you could say, is almost like the powerhouse that lights up the dark.
When the moon is covered over by the darkness, it is very black, down on the ground.
As I behold the moon, my eyes are suddenly clouding over.
Could it be? Tears are forming from the light radiating so bright.
I then shift my focus away from the pure moon and back to the many stars that fill the sky above. Only God knows the number and significance of all. I just wonder.
But wait, now that my attention is back on the stars, something is different..
The stars seem like they are getting closer to me. Tons and tons are falling.
Oh wait, those aren't stars. I look around and realize what I am seeing.
All of a sudden, I see that snow is falling and as it is falling,
it is floating gracefully to the ground in all its white, soft, powdery goodness.
It looks so beautiful how snowflakes shine in the moonlight.
It's another wonder of God's beloved creation that is winter.
The snowflakes are falling gracefully covering the cold, frozen, dark green grass.
I stick out my tongue in the mist of the continual snowfall and I am able to feel
the cold, watery, plush snow on my tongue. It quenches my thirst.
I am now surrounded by a winter wonderland.
Look how it glistens as the moonlight catches my eye.
It's beautiful! What more could you want?
Thank God for your life and everything in it.
