I
do not own Gundam Wing
A/N: Okay this is my first attempt at rhyming
poetry. It was born during a 30 hr train ride and I had nothing left to read.
So I tried to write and came up with the first stanza said "Hey that rhymes!"
and decided to write a sonnet…it didn't work. I ran out of lines before I ran
out of things to say. So it became this ballad thing. After many attempts (I
had no thesaurus on the train...and did you know nothing rhymes with
soldier!?! Except Folgers and buggered
if I was going to put that in the poem ^_^) This is want I ended up with so I
hope there's something good in it ^_^
So
let me know what you liked, didn't like, thought was weak, was your favorite
line, was amazing confused with, or if I should try rhyming ever again!
A
Soldiers' Legacy
People
will hurt,
And
people will cry
But
for what it's worth
Fewer
should die.
The
sun sinks low,
And
night descends.
Fates
puppets know
That
tomorrow it ends.
Morning
brings light,
And
hope disappears.
Today
they must fight.
They
silence their fears.
The
slaughter has started
The
outcome is known:
Their
lives have been bartered
For
the 'good of their own'.
They
sell souls to the devil
Their
superiors don't care
"Just
kill all the rebels
And
those who might dare"
"We
won't have the death
Or
cause needless pain.
If
we are to die
There
must be a gain."
Despite
the fives vow
The
voice had its say:
"Just
destroy it all now
You'll
die either way
"You
really mean nothing.
Just
pawns in this war
Made
for the killing
Why
does it matter what for?"
There're
so many things
One
person can hold.
But
they've seen all war brings,
And
their hearts are too cold.
Their
bleeding hands
Are
bloodied once more
But
for the sake of this land
They
will end the war.
These
ones are Fates' bane
They
will have a say
They
won't die in vain.
The
five back away.
The
light was near blinding
Everyone
stunned
People
just finding
The
five were so young
There's
no mark of their toil,
No
monument, no stone.
Just
a small plot of soil
Where
nothing has grown.
People
have hurt,
And
people did cry,
But
for what it's worth,
Fewer
did die.
