Title: Nicknames
Rating: K
Summary: Ziva, being the observer, asks Tony a question.
A/N: So, I've noticed this before, and I wanted to slightly explore it. Everyone calls Abby Abs a lot, and then Tony calls McGee a variety of things (i.e., McGeek and things) even though it's been less and less. And since I'm one of those people who doesn't believe that Tony calls Ziva anything over than Ziva and Zee-vah (which is just drawing out the e sound) I decided to write a drabble about it. :)
Yay for summer.
Words: 395 (yay for drabbly things.)
Ziva is sitting at her desk, listening as Tony talks to Abby on the phone. They are alone in the bullpen, as McGee is out with Gibbs. Abby has been processing evidence all day, and she calls to tell them what she has so she doesn't stop. Moreover, since Gibbs has been gone most of the day, she calls Tony.
"Alright, thanks Abs."
Ziva watches Tony as he writes something down, bunches up the paper and throws it to her. She catches it with ease, taking it apart and nodding at what is written down. When she types it into her computer, and she looks up at Tony.
"Will I ever get a nickname?"
Tony looks up at her, a questioning look on his face.
"What do you mean?" He asks, wondering where her question came from.
"Well, you call Abby Abs and McGee a number of names."
"I call you ninja."
He can hear the pure curiosity in her voice, and knows that she is just observing. He would wonder if she didn't ask a question like this.
"Yes, you do. Abby and McGee's nicknames are their name shortened or added to."
"Do you want me to call you diva?"
She laughs hard, smiling wide.
"No, I do not want that. I was just curious."
Tony nods, tilting his head. She tilts her head the same way, and they smirk at each other. Tony is the first to sit up straight.
"I can't really shorten your name." Tony says, contemplating that sentence.
"And Gibbs already calls you Ziver." Ziva smiles at that statement, as she was already thinking of that nickname (or term of endearment, depending on which way she looked at it) when she asked the question.
"You do not have to give me a nickname. I was just asking."
"Oh, I know. But, now you have me thinking." Tony furrows his brow.
"Oh no, don't hurt yourself."
Tony has the urge to stick his tongue out at her, but refrains.
"I like your name. I don't feel the need to shorten it."
Ziva smiles, looking down at her computer as her search completes. Tony watches her for a second.
"Besides. I like the name sweet cheeks."
Tony can't think of the last time Ziva beamed that brightly.
A/N: Ehh, it's short and kinda sweet and drabbly. But, I'm in a very good mood. I got my permit today, after passing the test, and then I got a bathing suit and new shorts and a nice shirt. So... :D I'm in a very very very good mood. I think I should update some more...
Reviews would be appreciated on my drabble.
