The clock on the dashboard showed 7.40am. It was a lovely Monday morning with blue sky and white puffy clouds. To everyone else, it was just another cheery sunny morning but to Tezuka, it was the longest Monday morning that he ever had. His eyes darted from the clock to the long queue of cars in front. He let out a sigh and knew that he was late.
Fuji has been sitting quietly at the front passenger seat since they left Tezuka's house half-an-hour ago. There were a lot of things running through his mind as the car whizzed past schools, houses and eventually got stuck in a terrible traffic jam as they entered the city. He felt a tinge of regret as he recalled the conversation they had earlier.
"Tezuka, I can take a cab back to my apartment. There's no need for you to send me back." Fuji smiled cheerfully at Tezuka who was about to enter the car.
"Your apartment is along the way to my office." Tezuka replied as he started up the car and waited for the tensai to buckle up before speeding away.
Honk!
The sound of cars honking brought Fuji back to reality. It was partially his fault that they were stuck in a traffic jam now and Tezuka running late for his meeting. Fuji glanced at Tezuka and noticed that although the former captain managed to maintain his usual coolness, the restlessness can be seen in his eyes. Fuji placed his hand on Tezuka's thigh and smiled.
Tezuka felt Fuji's hand on his thigh and turned to face the tensai. He nodded in response and was grateful for Fuji's soothing touch. His uneasiness faded away as the cars began to move slowly.
Tezuka regretted for not waking up earlier but the morning kiss that Fuji had given him made him forgets about everything else, including his meeting. His lips still tingled and as he stopped in front of Fuji's apartment, he was hoping that Fuji will kiss him once more. To his dismay, Fuji just smiled and thanked him for the ride. Sighing, he was about to move away when Fuji's voice called out to him.
"Ne Tezuka, since you are late for your meeting and have nothing on till lunch time, why don't we have brunch together in my apartment?" Tezuka stared at Fuji and wondered how does Fuji knows his schedule for the day. He nodded in agreement, parked his car and locked it before following Fuji up to his house. Fuji unlocked the front door and was about to enter when he did something unexpected. Turning around, Fuji planted his lips onto Tezuka's and the both of them tumbled into the house with the upper buttons of Tezuka's shirts undone. Looks like Fuji's kiss has managed to make Tezuka forgets about brunch.
