Snape pulled me through Hogwarts by my arm, yanking it harshly as he commanded me to speed up.
I had failed, I tried to kill him, really, I had. But I couldn't. Dumbledore was right, 'You're not a killer, Draco.'
It was when Snape thought he had triggered my Portkey, while he was fighting Potter, screaming that he was the Half-Blood Prince, and that those had been his spells that Potter had used to almost kill me, that I spotted her. For one haunting second we stared into each others eyes.
Mesmerized.
We looked away, lost to each other forever.
