It was fun then, when we were young. We would hang out all the time, be crazy. We didn't care how we acted or even how we looked like. We were together that's all that mattered, our group of four. Marley, Lola, Penelope and I, Pandora. We all had separate personalities, but opposites attract right? Marley was your average bookworm, while Lola was more outgoing and always trying to be cool, Penelope was a girly-girl and was always smiling and me just being me. But even with all our differences we were all best friends, and I'm talking about the kind that nothing comes between them.
Well there is one thing. High school. It changes you, either good or bad. But once you change, everything involved with you changes as well. Your grades, your thoughts, your relationships and in my case your friendships. The first few months of high school for my friends and I were ok. We seemed to be unbreakable or so we thought. Lola being the outgoing social butterfly she was and wanting to ''fit in'' started talking to the popular group. It really consisted of a bunch of slutty cool kids that liked to drink and get high. I know weird group, huh? But everyone thought what they were doing was so awesome. Especially Lola, and before we knew it she left us. She turned into this wanna-be cool, drinking, pot-headed, lying, motherfucker. Pardon my French, but its true!
Next was Penelope. She usually liked to talk about how she bought this new mascara or got a good price on her cute mini skirt, which neither Marley nor I cared about. Later on, Penelope started talking with these two cacked-faced bitches who would think their better then everyone else. Apparently they had a lot of stuff in common, so Penelope just stopped hanging with us. She occasionally talked to us but it wasn't the same. I still don't know why she ever left us to go with those girls. All they did was fight about whose better and are always jealous about one another.
Now, Marley never really changed she just read a lot more often and found a new interest in supernaturals, which I liked too. I think we had way more stuff in common then the other two, that's how we stuck together all these years. I mean yes we both have other qualities that are opposite from one another but the one thing we both love is reading, writing and everything fictional. The only thing is we never had any classes together. So we weren't always close.
For me, all I can say is that I have changed. I used to be a friendly, happy always smiling, full of life kind of girl. But because of high school, I changed. It helped me see that not everything in life can be good, that I should never get attached to anything because it won't last forever. So I changed into the dark, quiet girl with no real friends who doesn't give a shit about anyone and does her own thing. So there you go, high school. It changes you.
