"What the hell Jess" she said as she stormed in eyes blazing as she swept past the line. Security started to step forward but Jess waved them off at shake of the head. As the people patiently waiting in the queue to meet the famous author stared on in surprise. He smirked, that perfect Jess Mariano smirk, before saying he had to take five, he was due a break anyway. Before, he led her toward the exit.
She was one of the only people in the world who could talk to him like that, she was one of the only people who truly knew him, everything, his past, his troubles not just the facade of a bestselling author he had seemed to become.
"Jess how could you what is the meaning of this?",
"what?" he asked innocently that gleam she knew so well in his eye
"That dedication you know exactly what I am talking about."
"Maybe I just got tired of running, of living this life of hiding my true self and my true feelings."
He shrugged nonchalantly, "maybe It's like writing in the margins of my own books or perhaps it's just to get a reaction?"
"Well which is it?" she asked softly calming down as he refused to meet her eyes,
"The first." He replied suddenly confident, he knew he could get shot down , his world could dissipate around him once again as it had so many times before or, or maybe he could be optimistic for once in his life and believe that this might work she had believed in him more than anyone it was worth a shot. And anyway, if it backfired at least he would get some inspiration for his next book no doubt.
"I love you Rory Gilmore, nothing is ever going to change that, I get that now, and if you want me I'm yours, you can depend on me much more now, I promise."
She smiled at him oblivious to the eyes watching them though the translucent glass, they would never see the whole story, "What is much?" she asked, and in that moment, he knew she was his, and for once he didn't care at everyone's disapproving glares as he leaned in to kiss her in the soft light outside a bookshop in Hartford.
