I am not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in
On a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl
I sneak in and see your friends
And her snotty little family, all dressed in pastel
And she is yelling at a bridesmaid
Today was their wedding. Why did it have to be Tanya? Her whole family loathed and despised me for ever being in Edward's life. We were still friends however much they tried to break our friendship. I shouldn't have let their relationship get this far. She didn't deserve him. Her family had pressured him into marrying her. You could never see a smile that reached his eyes when he was with her. It was clear he didn't love her, but did he love me?
I couldn't let them get married. He didn't deserve to be stuck with her. At least not without letting my feeling known.
Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said "speak now"
"Sorry Miss we need to see an invitation." I look toward the doors.
"I know the groom and the bride, I just want to talk to them for one quick second."
"I'm afraid I can't let you in without an invitation." I walk away and walk in through the side door.
Fond gestures are exchanged
And the organ starts to play
A song that sounds like a death march
And I am hiding in the curtains
It seems that I was uninvited
by your lovely bride-to-be
She floats down the aisle
Like a pageant queen
But I know you wish it was me
You wish it was me, don't you?
Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said "speak now"
Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door
Don't wait or say a single vow
Your time is running out
And they said, "speak now"
Tanya looked like a runway model as usual in that dress. My navy blue dress seemed much to plain. Am I just making a fool out of myself?
Oh, la, oh
I hear the preacher say
"Speak now or forever hold your peace"
I stood up slowly my eyes on Edward. Gasps were heard from all around. He turned suddenly. His emerald eyes locked with mine.
All eyes on me
Horrified looks from
Everyone in the room
But I'm only looking at you
I am not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in
On a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl
I walk forward slowly until I reach the middle of the church.
So don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said, "speak now"
And you say
Let's run away now
I'll meet you when
I'm out of my tux at the back door
His serious face curved into my favorite crooked smile. He let go of Tanya's hand and grabbed mine. Running toward the open church doors ignoring the calls of protest left behind us.
