Summary: Hermione attempts to use child psychology. One shot, drabble, humor.
Hermione started to wonder what her three year old daughter was up to. Rose was being quiet, which generally meant that nothing good was to come of whatever she was doing. She got up from the rocking chair, laying a sleeping Hugo in his crib. After tucking the covers around him, she exited the bedroom and walked down the hall toward Rose's bedroom.
When she opened the door Hermione was greeted with the sight of her daughter sitting quietly, crayons strewn about the floor, and Rose making colorful scribbles across the wall in front of her.
"Rose," said Hermione softly, getting the attention of her daughter. "What are you doing?"
"Coloring," replied Rose in a matter-of-fact tone.
Hermione was instantly glad she had read so much on raising children. The books had even explained exactly what to do in a situation such as this. They said to let your child know that you recognize how they must feel, and in that instance they won't become emotionally scarred or think they are inadequate. Also, they explained that once you had acknowledged their feelings, they would be more receptive to understanding why they shouldn't be doing certain things.
Hermione walked over confidently to where her daughter was sitting and took a seat beside her, while the three year old continued her artwork.
"Rose you're coloring on the wall," said Hermione calmly. "You usually color in your coloring books."
Rose simply looked at her mother, nodded, then went back to scribbling.
"You're picture is beautiful," added Hermione. "I'm also sure that it's a lot of fun to make drawings on the wall."
Rose stopped what she was doing, looking at her mother with a huge smile on her face. She immediately grabbed a green crayon, holding it out for her mother to take.
"Here, mummy," said Rose cheerfully. "You do it too!"
