Chapter 1: A young one at the door
Mr. Bilbo Baggins had just put on his silk light blue pajamas and was heading to the front parlor of his home to have a cup of tea in front of his fire place before going to bed. He entered and was just about to sit down with a book that he had been reading for a few days, when their came a light but urgent knock upon his front door. Thinking who could be calling at this hour of night, Bilbo Baggins heaved himself from his chair and quickly scuttled to his front door. The knock came again with a little more urgency, "I'm coming!" called Bilbo as he finally made it to the door, he did not grumble in annoyance although some would have. For he was a very patient man but had very little patients for those of tomfoolery, he opened the door and nearly let out a growl when he some no one there.
The sound of sniffles stopped him from slamming his door in annoyance; he looked down and to his surprise, a babe no older then 2 days was at his feet. "No wonder the urgency" he said to himself, he picked up the baby and with a closer look at the face he saw it to be a girl. He looked around the dark garden and even walked down his stone slab path to the end of his gates for any sign of the little girl's parents or parent. None was to be found, or at least not tonight, he pulled the white blanket that she was bundled in around her closer and brought her inside. He returned to his chair by the fire with her and watched her for a little bit, it had been years since he had children in his home, he wondered what he was to do with her and who would leave such a beautiful, sweet looking creature all by their lonesome.
He also began to worry, the child had not made a sound, not even when he picked her up and carried her inside. "Can you hear me little one?" he said to her as he gently stroked her little head, her hair was soft as velvet and the color of golden sunshine. With his gentle touch and soft voice, the little girl opened her eyes, her eyes where the color of amazonite (green or bluish green in color) gems. Her eyes fell upon him and he knew he looked dumb struck, these eyes and hair where not of hobbit heritance, no they where Elfish. Young of Elves never left their parents they where well guarded and they where supposed to be in hiding, not out in the dead of night or what not. The little Elf girls smiled at him and let out a laugh of pure silver bells, she was beautiful and she was now his, he had made up his mind when he first saw her eyes. He would raise her as his own and he would call her Sol Angel Baggins, Sol for her lovely sun color hair and Angel for she was a gift from above.
While he was playing with her little hands a though struck him, he would through a party in her honor as a welcoming to Baggins family, and as a welcoming to his new Heir to be.
