"Morning, Robot!" Skye exclaimed happily, jumping up to sit on the bench where Ward was making a protein shake.
"You're up early, for once." He said, blankly.
"Well, it's a special day." Skye grinned.
He quirked his brow at her.
"Oh come on!" She gasped. "Surely Valentine's Day was put into your programming."
"Oh." He muttered.
"So do I get a present?" She grinned.
"Why don't you ask Lydon." He said coldly.
She sighed. "I told you, we're done. I broke up with him after I found out he was selling information."
"And you're ready to move on so quickly?" He said with a smirk.
"I-I didn't mean that kind of present." She stammered, blushing.
"Well, what other present would you mean? It's Valentine's Day after all." He said, leaning closer towards her.
"Um..." She muttered, gulping as she closed her eyes, hoping for him to kiss her.
He snorted, pulling back. "You're an idiot."
She wanted to cry. Had she actually though he was going to kiss her? So stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. He had just been teasing her, like always.
"Are you crying?" He asked.
"No." She said, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"What's wrong?" He asked, a tender tone to his voice that wasn't normally there.
"I just wanted a present." She muttered. "It's stupid, laugh all you want. I don't care."
Before she could say anything else, Ward pulled her towards him and kissed her. He knew it was against protocol, but he didn't care. He was in love.
