The Chains Around His Heart
He was only seven when the chains were forged and wrapped around his heart.
He attended the academy with a heavy heart and kept to himself while he wore those chains.
Then he was put on a three man cell and tried to form bonds, but the chains only tightened their hold on his heart.
The first time she tried to break those chains was on their mission to wave. Her tiny fists had tried to pound on those heavy chains while she cried over his supposedly dead body. He awoke to her tears falling on his face and felt the first tiny fracture in a link of those chains.
The second and third time was in the Forest of Death and after his battle with Gaara when she hugged him, but she was still to weak to break those chains.
Her most valiant effort was before he left the village in search of power and revenge. But again she was still not strong enough. He left her on a bench as he walked away with even more fractures to that chain around his heart.
She had even tried to forge chains around her own heart when she told Naruto she loved him, but the chains shattered when she could not follow through with the killing of Sasuke.
All through his time of training with the snake sannin his chains grew tighter. They grew even tighter after he killed his brother and Danzo.
By the time he entered the war the chains were almost at their tightest.
Once more she fought to break those chains. She put all her strength into those small fists of hers when she pounded on them, but again those chains would not give way.
It would take Naruto with all his energy and strength to be able to finally break those chains.
He gave all he could and an arm to break those chains, but he did so gladly.
He called Naruto his friend after those chains were broken.
When he saw her he said, "I'm sorry for everything."
After the war he thanked her again for those small weak punches of hers by poking her in the forehead.
He then left the village so he could see the world without those chains around his heart.

Here is something I came up with in my waking hours of the morning. My brain latched onto this and would not let it go until I wrote it down. Then I thought I would share with the Naruto community.
I'm not sure how good this is. I don't even know if it could be classified as a poem. Maybe a drabble for how short it is.
