"Killua!!!"

The scream tore through the cold night with a fierce rage and pain but the said name did not reply he didn't have the strength to. All he could do was to watch his best friend agony silently as the last of his life slip by him. He did no regret it – his life. He had had everything, a best friend, happy memories and a way of life that he had chosen by himself. And as Gon cradled his battered body delicately, he couldn't help but smile at his best friend.

It had been a meaningful life.

And with the content thought, the last chain that bound his soul and body broke.

"Killua?"

Goodbye, Gon.

"No… KILLUA!!!"

He watched sadly as Gon shook his body vigorously crying and screaming all the while. Again, he couldn't do anything but just to watch his best friend in agony. He wanted to hug Gon and calm him down but… Killua looked at his transparent hand…

He was just a soul now.

"Killua… Open your eyes, please."

His heart ache at the impossible request.

"Don't leave me! Not yet!"

Gon…

"There's nothing more you can do here." A voice spoke behind him. At first, he had thought the voice was talking to Gon, and then he felt a hand on his shoulder.

He turned; a man draped in black kimono with a sword in hand was standing behind him.

"Who are you?"

The man smiled benignly.

"A shinigami."

Somehow the answer didn't entirely surprise him; he was expecting some kind of presence to escort him to the after life but… He turned once more to his best friend.

"Please, Killua… Don't leave me."

Gon…

"I'm sorry, but there's nothing more you can do here" He heard the man said, gently. "That boy will face the truth soon. And you will only torture yourself if you stay here any longer."

He knew that… but…

"Killua…"

"Come." He heard the man said again.

"Give me a minute."

The man hesitated then: "Okay, just another minute then I have to send you to Rukongai."

Killua didn't even bother about the name it was probably the afterlife. Instead he bend down beside Gon and hug his friend, imagining that he could really hold his best friend in his arm. Unconsciously, tears began to spill down his cheeks.

"Gon, thank you for everything in this past three years but…" He let go of Gon and stood up, facing the shinigami. The man stared at him sadly and he closed his eyes as he completed the sentence.

"Goodbye, Gon."

I know… this is the second time I killed Killua… What can I say, I am a very demented sadist.

And I usually don't like or write crossover but this stupid idea has drill its way into my head… And I can't ignore it. It can be a one shot and it can be a proper story… I'll let my mood decide on that.

Anyway, please leave me a review on your way out.

PS: I'm still contemplating whether I should continue this story or just leave it as a one short. Please let me know... and I'm also open to any ideas.
