My second one-shot yayy. This is a scene in year 5. I havent made my mind up yet if its Draco from the beginning or if it starts with mystery boy.. hmm. you choose :) PLS REVIEW!
Hermione had really made an effort.
She had woken up extra early, before the other girls, and taken her sweet time in the shower. She had used that new conditioner she had bought with Ginny on their last Hogsmead trip. She had even put on some of Parvati's mascara, with her permission of course.
She had gone to breakfast in the Great Hall with high hopes that he would finally notice her, now that she had bothered to look good. Lavender had complimented her hair, acknowledging her effort. Even Harry had told her she looked good.
But it wasn't good enough for Hermione. She hadn't woken up so early because of Harry.
Hermione looked around while eating, searched for him. And fidgeted all throughout breakfast, nervously glancing around the Great Hall to find him. He wasn't sitting at his table, but that was not unusual. Dinner was the only meal everyone spent at their own table. Scanning the tables behind her and ahead of her, she looked for him. But when she finally spotted the boy, he was leaning forward on his elbows, intently talking to a Ravenclaw called Loretta.
He had not even noticed her. Discouraged and slightly annoyed, Hermione turned back to her plate. She knew it was stupid to do things to impress boys. It was completely pointless. They didnt even appreciate it enough for it to be worth the effort!
She realised that the boys were calling her. Potions was the first subject that day, which only worsened her mood. She followed Ron and Harry to the dungeons, trying to prepare herself for a double lesson of Potions with Professor Snape but unable to shake the dissapointment off.
Just as they neared the classroom, Hermione heard several footsteps quickly drawing closer.
"Lookin' good, Granger."
Turning her head to the voice quickly she saw Draco Malfoy passing her followed by Crabbe and Goyle. He flashed her a quick smirk before dissapearing into the dungeon.
Hermione fought the blush unsuccessfully thinking, maybe sometimes it was worth it..
