"Destiny love, I've lost you," Dani called out to her computer screen.
"I'm Here. Sorry. Hi." Des put the tablet back on its stand, and watched her daughter squirm out from under the bed.
"You guys seem busy."
"Naima's packing– babes, baby put those down please–Yeah, she's taken over the suitcases."
"In her 'zone' again?" Dani chucked.
"I don't even think she can hear us," Destiny sighed, and turned back to her friend, leaning into her palm. She sat up, surprised. "Hey, your hair!"
"It's not too drastic is it?" Dani smirked, smoothing it down.
"No. Black looks surprisingly good on you, actually."
"Thanks. I think."
"I love it. So, are you anxious about next week?"
"No." Dani shrugged. "It's not like I have to give a speech or anything." What about you?
"I should be anxious?"
"...Nevermind. We'll talk when you get here. But, where's my favourite goddaughter?"
"Didn't know you had more than one," Destiny noted, and she stood to grab the little girl.
"Ha. Ha." Dani spat to the frame of an empty room.
"Nima, come on, Auntie Dani wants to say goodnight. Na-ah, you know what time it is." Destiny popped back into view with Naima on her lap. She was holding a sippy-cup, baby oil, one of Destiny's bras and a face as serious as the end of the world.
Dani tried to cover up her laugh, "Ahem. Hello little lady. Your mommy tells me you're packing."
"I'm not finished, and I'm not even sleepy," the girl argued, blinking and rubbing her eyes. Dani and Destiny smiled at each other.
"Aww, you still have another day. I'm sure you can pack tomorrow."
"First thing in the morning." Destiny added, as she kissed the top of her daughter's head.
Naima suddenly sat up, and looked at Dani. "Did you know we're going on a plane?"
"Yeah! And I can't wait to see you."
"And Uncle Shane too..." Naima trailed off, as she leaned into her mom and yawned.
"Him too."
"I think we're ready for bed now?" Destiny concluded. Naima was half-way gone, but lazily leaned forward and kissed the screen.
"Goodnight sweetie," Dani replied.
Destiny hoisted her daughter onto her hip, "Hmpf, she is getting big. I'll call you tomorrow, or before we take off Saturday. Ciao." She winked and walked off camera.
"Adios." Dani clicked to end the call.
