Keeping Sanity

She wouldn't cry like Sirius. She wouldn't scream like Rodulphus. She remained intact, crouching in the corner, away from the coldness of the dementors. Her cell was empty and small, much like her life. It was comforting, in a way, that she could think for once. People can't tell her what to do, not now. She has control, she is free in her own little cell.

She wasn't normal, she knew that. But she was sane, and that made all the difference.

She cackled at the thought of being alone for ages in her cell. She would break out, she was sure of it. Or someone.... Severus! He would break her out! If anyone can, he could. He has connections to Dumbledore.

She pondered on the thought, what if he can't? Or he refused to? No, he wouldn't do that to her. He was a good friend, collegue, person. He would do this for her, he owes her his life.

She grabbed a stone and threw it at the little window up above her head. She remembers.

His secret. Severus' secret. Oh, he has a secret that no one could know. But she knows, and she could hold this against him if she stays in this hell for too long.

Why couldn't she just tell? Why? She would recieve praise from Him. Great praise indeed. No, she still had the family moral kept in her mind: Never tell, no matter what it holds. But still, this was different. This could bring them to victory. But was it not as different as a secret affair? It should be kept, like any other secret. Or is it? Anyway, she has a thought that bothers her that lays in the corner of her mind, right next to her long forgotten innocence, morality, and her dwindling sanity; she secretly wants the Light to win. Because what would the outcome be after a possible victory of the Dark? Only hell, for both sides. There would be survivors, those to be afraid of, many rebels, and deaths, too many deaths. She hated death as much as anyone, contrary to what everyone thinks. Anyway, besides the family moral, what is the real reason to her sudden protection for Snape?

She loves him.

No, that can't be true. She loves the Dark Lord.

Her laughter rang throughout the prison cells. She laughs and laugh until she is breathless. She loves the Dark Lord....
