Cristina was observing Burke performing a off pump quintuple cabbage from the gallery. It was her third day as an intern, but she already knew that her specialty would be Cardio. Cardio was the reason why she wanted to become a surgeon in the first place. It was 5:47 am, so she still had 10 minutes before rounds. She was moving her hands in the air, mimicking all of Burke's movements, when she was interrupted by someone entering the gallery. It was Meredith. She set right besides Cristina and let out a sigh.
Cristina wondered for a moment if to ignore it or ask her what was wrong. She had never been a people person.
"What?" she asked at last.
"Alex Karev, one of the other interns. He called me a nurse."
"What a pig…" said Cristina. She sure wasn't a people person, but she could relate to this. She would be really pissed off if someone had called her a nurse.
"Yeah! Doesn't he understand I have other problems, and the last thing I need are his stupid comments?"
Cristina was wondering once again whether or not to ask more questions. She didn't usually get involved in other people's lives, especially people she barely knew. But Meredith Grey wasn't exactly a stranger; they had started a sort of friendship when they made up after their fight the night before.
"What other problems?"
Meredith turned to face her. She wasn't really the kind of person that opens up and shares her problems, but she felt like she could trust Cristina. She was considering what words to use. "It's my m…" she was interrupted mid sentence by someone entering the gallery. It was George "I looked everywhere for you. Rounds start in 5 minutes."
"We know!" Answered Cristina in an annoyed tone of voice. "We'll be right there." said Meredith almost simultaneously.
After she was sure George had closed the door behind him, Cristina looked at Meredith again and said "You were saying…?"
The moment was gone, Meredith didn't really feel like talking about it right now. "Never mind. Let's go!" Cristina got up, turned around "Let's go!" repeated, and started walking toward the door.
