AN: THE Talk will come out soon... I've been busy working on a play and haven't gotten around to writing anything for it yet. This is just a bit of a thirst quencher ^_^

Disclaimer: I don't know why I even write these stupid things... we all know who owns Star Wars

Amidala let silent tears of anger slide down her face. Anakin had just returned from Gods know where after 3 weeks. He hadn't even said good-bye... He hadn't even said where he was going. Amidala stifled a sob. A year ago, they couldn't STAND being away from each other.

A year ago, they wouldn't be seen apart.

A year ago, they filled every night with love and passion.

A year ago, they were happy.

Amidala smacked the glass of the window with her fist causing Anakin, who had been lounging in a chair by the fire, to look up with a questioning gaze. "Amidala?" She shuddered. He never called her Ami anymore either... now it seemed as if "Amidala" was a cold formality. The young queen hit the glass again, causing her knuckles to swell. She turned to face him. "DAMNIT, ANAKIN SKYWALKER! WHAT IS GOING ON?" The young Jedi seemed taken aback somewhat, but quickly regained his composure. "What do you mean Amidala?"

She rolled her eyes and hit the window again, this time causing it to crack. Little shards of glass penetrated her delicate skin, and blood flowed down her hand. Anakin sat calmly and watched as his wife pounded the glass with fury. Amidala couldn't stand his placidness.

*POUND*

A year ago, he would've rushed to my side!

*POUND*

A year ago, he would've kissed each little cut!

*POUND*

A year ago, he would love me!

Amidala uncurled her bloody fist, and smacked the cracked glass with her palm.

The glass broke.

Her palm went right through, taking in glass. Amidala bit her lip, removed her hand from the hole and slumped against the window. Anakin, was still sitting, watching, in awe of his wife who was harming herself. He sighed heavily and walked over to her, but no comforting hand did he place on her shoulder. No kiss did he place upon her lips to silence her small cries of agony. The only thing she received from him was a cold glare and an annoyed complaint.

"Are you quite finished Amidala?"

For a moment the pain in her hand dulled, and the pain in her heart took over. She looked up at him, her cheeks stained with tears, her eyes flooded with them, and gaped. She gaped at his insensitivity. She gaped at his lack of compassion. She gaped at him.

A year ago, she would've ignored it.

A year ago, she would've written it off as a bad day.

A year ago, she would've let it slide.

But this was now.

And she couldn't.

She let her tear-filled eyes narrow. "What has happened to you?" she hissed. "What are you? What happened to my husband?" Anakin didn't say a word. He showed no emotion. He simply got up and turned around. And with his back to her, he whispered, "The question, Amidala, is what has happened to you?" She was not meant to hear it but she did. And she recoiled.

"YOU happened to me, Anakin Skywalker! You gave me love! You gave me friendship! And now what? YOU'VE TAKEN IT AWAY! WHY? WHAT HAPPENED TO US?" She tried to stand, but found her legs shaky and uncertain, so she collapsed. "A year ago, we wouldn't be like this." She bit her lip. "A year ago, we wouldn't be fighting." Her tears fell. "A year ago..."

She never got to finish her sentence.

She was cut off by the slamming of her door.

"A year ago... we were in love..."

THE END!
