Hello! I have had alot of tests, but somehow I still some how got this idea, and wrote it! I hope you enjoy!
It was all to perfect to be real. The trees with their golden leaves, and the endless blue sky. The soft wind that whistled new noted into the air, and the butterflies. Each one different from the other, but somehow just as beautiful as everything else.
Matthew looked around. Where was the place he had sat moments before, and where was he now?
"I see you have come to join me." Said a voice from behind him, and Matthew spun around. There standing now in front of him was an almost mirror image of himself. except this one had blue eyes and shorter hair.
"Hello." Matthew muttered in his soft voice that could only barely be heard above the whistles of the wind.
"Your to quiet for your own good." Sighed the man in front of Matthew. "I'm Alfred, or Al for short." The man in front of Matthew said as he raised his hand up for Matthew to take. Matthew quickly picked up on the gesture and shook Als hand. "Now Matthew I'm going to ask you a question." Al warned before taking a deep breath. "If you did have a brother or sister what would you want your last memory of them to be?"
Matthew was shocked the question was a personal one, and for him to tell a stranger he had only just meet would be... Matthew quickly diverted his attention to his mouth. He found him self answering the question unconsciously, but he didn't feel like he did earlier now he felt like he could trust Al. "I would want it to be a good goodbye, with happy smiles, and good memories."
"That sounds like a goodbye anyone would want." Al smiled, as he slowly started to fade away.
"Looks like my time is up for now, but this is only temporary. Goodbye Matthew, and have a good life." And just like that the man vanished leaving Matthew sitting down in the same class he was before the dream.
"Huh!" Matthew gasped, as he looked around the room. The place that had seemed to be part on his imagination now was gone, and he was left staring at his blank paper as the bell rang.
"Okay student tomorrows notes will be over the beginning of our greek history unit." Said Matthews World History teacher as students now flooded out the doors, as they headed home.
Matthew followed, and soon was at the door to his house. Matthew quickly entered only to hear the crying of his parents, coming from the living room. He slowly entered, but before he could do anything a note was shoved his way.
Dear Mom, Dad, and Matt.
I know that this seems like it is a suicide letter, but it isn't. By the time you read this I would have already been in the car crash that ended my life today, but I'm lucky. Not everyone gets to know exactly when their death is going to be. I'm writing this letter, and honestly hoping to put down more words than I know I can, but even I know I can't escape death, so I'm going to make this short. Mom and Dad please remember that I always love you, and just because I'm not here anymore doesnt make your life all that different. Please always remember me and stay strong for Matthew.
Matthew don't forget that dream. It really was me, and you answered just the way I wanted you to. earlier today I saw a butterfly. Just like the ones you saw in the dream, but this wasn't a normal butterfly this was the sign that my life was ending. All the butterflies you saw there were souls of people in our family, and one day you'll see yours to. Now this isn't a goodbye. I will see you soon, and one we reunite I will never leave you again, so until then stay strong.
Goodbyes
-Al
Matthew felt the drops fall from his eyes. His mind rewinding to the dream that he had earlier. This wasn't goodbye. He would see him another day. The day he died. The day he took his place with all the butterflies he had saw earlier.
Well that's all! Please review!
