Bittersweet Time Trial

How long can you last?

Do you have what it takes to impress those who doubt you?

Or maybe you just look to escape from the outside world

For you know that only the strong survive

And in pain, agony, and torture

Only one thing will make it better

Confidence

As their two sided face spins around you slowly

Monitoring you and targeting your weaknesses

Finally they descend onto you, feeding off your emotions

And all the while you're completely unaware of the consequences

What was once stood for as loyalty has turned into betrayal

Not by choice, but by stupidity

Life is a course with every turn you make

Are you ready for the surprises that await you?

Or do you drive blindly and crash knowing you were going the wrong way

There is still time to open your eyes

Not before they touch you with their velvet hands

And all the while you're melting into their arms

Lava flowing around you, surrounding you

To be with them is to make them happy

To leave them is a risk only taken by a guru

Do you dare break the moment?

Both of you waltzing around the room

With not the slightest doubts on your mind

As to whether or not they're deceiving or perceived as the unthinkable

Dodge and roll

Time and Consequences

You're this close to letting yourself free

With the last bit of energy that flows from you

Take it and make something of yourself

Not because you have false feelings for them

But to do the right thing and come out alive

Their lips have left yours

Open your eyes
