Shadow Tears

It was a rainy day. George was sitting near the window, just staring outside. He barely did anything within the last few weeks. He barely ate, he didn't sleep well and he just hasn't been talking that much.

A few hours later, he was walking out in the rain and he went to a cemetery. After a couple of minutes, he found Fred's Gravestone. George put flowers on it and sat down next to it. A few seconds after, he started crying.

"Fred I need you. My life has fallen apart. You are my best friend and twin brother; no one can ever take your place. My life just feels empty. Ever since you left, I just felt like I have no reason to live. My other half is gone and a part of my soul went too. I would do anything and everything to get you back."

George thought of many ways of how he could kill himself. He just wanted to be with Fred again, that's the only thing he wanted to do in his life. The image of Fred dying kept on playing in George's head. That was the one memory he wished that he would get rid of. No matter how hard he tried, that one memory would not go away.

Tears just kept falling on George's face. The rain just kept pouring down. George laid next to the grave and fell asleep. A few moments later, a huge light came down in front of him. The light looked like it was in the form of a human. It was Fred.

George was both surprised and happy to see him. He tried to give him a hug but then realized that it was only Fred's spirit. Tears just kept on rolling down George's face.

"Fred! What are you doing here?"

"I decided to come visit you in your sleep. Also, I'm here to tell you that you shouldn't waste your life away."

"But my life has no meaning. I want to be in Heaven with you. That's where I belong."

"George. I miss you a lot too but you belong here on Earth. Promise me that you won't kill yourself."

"I can't promise that Fred. Life isn't the same without you."

Although Fred would love to have George with him in Heaven, he wanted George to stay on Earth and fully live his life.

He didn't want George to have a short life, get killed earlier than he was supposed to, just the same way he did. Fred didn't want George to leave the Earth this soon. He wanted George to move on, and enjoy the rest of what he has in life.

"Georgie, promise me something. Promise me you'll move on and continue with your life. I promise you will see me again. This is not goodbye and it never will be. Promise me that you'll do that. Please."

George didn't want to say yes to that promise. He wasn't that excited to stay alive and wait for many years to join Fred. But, he wanted to see Fred happy.

"I promise."

A couple of minutes after, George woke up. He looked around; his mind was full of questions.

Did I really just see Fred? Did we actually talk? Was that real or just a dream?

He wished he knew the answers but all he knew was that he was going to keep that promise. George then started having flashbacks of the fun times and memories him and Fred shared. He also kept on thinking about the promise.

He didn't want to let Fred down, so he was willing to never break it. George looked at the grave one more time, got up, and walked away. He was still wondering if talking to Fred was a dream, real, or just something he wished happened.

Later that night, George was sitting on his bed. He picked up a picture of him and Fred together.

"Thanks for listening today. Seems like you were actually there with me. You will always have a special place in my heart. No one is ever going to replace you. I can't wait to see you again."

Tears ran down his face. He put the picture down, and just sat there in his room.

"I love you Fred."

Then George felt something touching his hand, he smiled and heard a whisper,

"I love you too George."

That's it! Hope you guys enjoyed this one-shot.
