This is a short drabble that I wrote ages ago as part of a challenge. It had to be 150 words with the theme 'Candles', and this was my little offering. It can be seen as being set within the Baby Love story (please see the note on my profile page for info on BL).
I decided to post it now as a sort of apology for the massive delays with Baby Love.

Celebration.
It was exactly one year since Atemu had gained a body, and the gang had gone out to celebrate. They started the day with a trip to the movies, followed by games at the arcade (where between them, Yugi and Atemu won every game), and rounded off the day with food at Calorie Burger.
All day, Yugi had carefully carried a mysterious box with him.
After they finished eating, Yugi instructed Atemu to close his eyes.
Once he opened them again, Atemu saw a small cake on the table, and burning brightly in the centre of it, a single candle.
"I know that we already had your birthday," explained Yugi, "but since today marks the first full year of your new life, we thought it was appropriate."
Atemu smiled at his friends, then, closing his eyes, he leaned forward and blew out the candle.
"Happy first birthday Atemu," said Yugi.
