Ongoing Pretence

Patrick doesn't pry. Or, at least, not intentionally with his co-workers.
He also doesn't keep track of their personal lives.
So, he pretends not to notice Van Pelt's new lip gloss. But, it's hard to miss for him.
The new pinkish sheen and slight hint of bubblegum.
He pretends not to notice that the lip gloss is no longer stashed in the back of her desk drawer.
He pretends not to notice her taking it along with her when she goes everywhere.
When she goes home. To interview a suspect. When she goes to the bathroom. To get lunch with Wayne.
He also pretends to ignore the fact that Rigsby's also got the smudge of pink sheen to his lips and collar every now and again.
It's getting tough to pretend so much.
