"You don't have to go, Sheena. They should send someone else; you're too young and, let's face it, too inexperienced. They can't just send you to another world!"

Sheena puffed up in anger. "I'll have you know I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, I appreciate the concern though." She turned to face him and stared into his saphiric eyes. Just when they were close enough to kiss she turned away again and waved a hand in farewell. He just stared after her in awe, not knowing that it would be many months before her got to experience her fiery, violent personality again…

Many months later, Zelos found himself on the roof of the Meltokio church gazing at the stars, not realizing what he was waiting for. He slowly drifted off to sleep and dreamt of snow and blood, betrayal and heartbreak. Zelos woke with a start on the rooftop of the church. "You picked a bad time, my friends. I've just woken up from a particularly bad dream."

Four masked men came at him simultaneously, and in one smooth movement he launched himself into the air and kicked two, roundhouse kicked one, and pulled his sword and killed the last one. He saw another figure crouched on the chimney. "Are you the last one?" Zelos scoffed. "What's with your sense of fashion?"

The opposing figure said nothing; he jumped into the air and landed on top of Zelos. Zelos blocked with his sword. When the man landed again Zelos lunged at him and started to slash at him, every attack being blocked by the man's greaves. Who is this guy!? What does he want from me? His thoughts were interrupted when the man kicked him off the building. Zelos shouted as he tried to right himself before he hit the ground. He landed on the ledge above the doors, jumped off and hit the ground with such force the concrete buckled around him. The man landed next to him and kept attacking with a ridiculous ferocity. "Demon Fang!" He swung is sword in the man's direction, hitting him with a powerful blast.

The man ran past him out of the courtyard. Zelos breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at the night sky. Four beams of light careened towards the middle of Meltokio. He put his hand on his hip and whispered to himself. "And the two worlds will come together once again. The wheels of destiny have begun to move."
