I'm leaving everything behind
Written by: Lanyka Lincoln
Story: Vash is leaving to fight Knives and Teal faces a decision she never thought she had to do. This is mainly Meryl's perspective on what is happening and how she feels about the situtation and Millie dealing with Wolf wood's death.
He's leaving. If only I said something earlier would he have stayed? Now he's gone and I not sure if he is ever coming back. I could feel another stream tears emerge from my eyes; I hate feeling so weak and helpless as thou I would be in the way. I envy Millie at times, how she has so much faith in Vash returning and Teal seems a bit bothered about this I've noticed.
I really need to someone to talk to right now, but Millie is working.
Suddenly I sensed another presence not too far from me, it was Teal. "Teal.." It was all I can say; I hardly speak to her or even create a conversation but Millie wasn't around so there was no one I know I can talk to.
"Oh,Teal. Hey, is everything alright?" I wondered.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Just thinking about something that's all." She replied, but she sound unsure as if something was bothering her.
"Are you sure? You sound really unsure of yourself." I added, hoping the conversation didn't end too quickly.
".." She finally replied, "I have a question, Meryl."
"Meryl? Did she just call me by my name (in a nice way)?" I was shock yet tried not to express it.
"Yeah." I answered as calm as I can.
"What if someone asked you to wait for him/her to back from wherever they were traveling?" She asked.
I understood the question clearly, but I'm not good at giving suggestions.
"Well, can you be a little more specific?" I lied.
"Alright, it's about Vash." she said.
~flashback~
Vash walks away carrying a giant cross, which was formerly own to Wolfwood. He went passed the saloon, Teal was leaning against the side of the saloon building. "What are going to do when you find Knives?" Vash stopped and turned half way, Teal looked up at him, "Well? What are you going to do?"
Vash smiled a little, "I'm going to save Knives."
Teal made confused look, "And what, bring him here?"
Vash faced her. " I made a promise to Rem that I would take care of Knives. I have to show him a better way."
"Is it even possible? How can change man who lives most of life on his own beliefs."
"Of all people thought you would understand."
"What? What do ya mean?"
"Even though I know possibilities I'm still taking the risk."
Teal smiled, "Heh, an old saying."
Teal's smile slowly frowned, "But I am not taking the risk."
"So, you're leaving?" he asked.
"What? Do you want me stay? Or at least wait until you come back or something?"
"Yeah, that would be nice. In fact, I would really like that."
"..."
"Seeya, later."
