Renesmee Cullen's life is perfectly normal.
Well, there's nothing normal about being a gifted half-vampire, half-human creature whose life had been very extraordinary since conception. But if you think about it, if you considered the fact that she was born and raised this way, then you might realize that this is normal for her. It's like growing up in a country whose culture is entirely different from the rest of the world; you will not notice that its culture is different until a foreigner comes and points this out.
Of course, it does not mean to say that she considers herself normal; quite the contrary, in fact. Since the beginning, she considers herself to be special. No one is quite like her, being one of only two half-vampire, half-humans in the world. Besides, why would her parents protect her like so when she is just normal?
But because she thinks her life is normal, she thinks that her life is boring. Terribly, unbearably boring.
And that's where Jacob Black, old werewolf and illustrious multimillionaire, comes in.
She was just downing a glass of Absinthe in a seedy cocktail bar when they met. After a casual conversation and a midnight fling, they realized that they were meant for each other. A few dates and more flings later they knew they had to get married. Plans were made, invitations were delivered, and one sunny June day, the knot was tied between Renesmee Cullen and Jacob Black. Instantly, plain old Renesmee Cullen became 'Nessie' Cullen-Black, the toast of high society, high meaning mass consumption of uppers and downers.
Now five years later she's got the world at her feet, success within an arm's reach. And, suddenly, life had suddenly become more and more monotonous for her, so she decides to find an adventure. She started chatting up with another man at an online dating site, and they had frequent flings within the span of three months. Even during that time, she was also seeing (and sleeping with) various men, and women as well later on.
When Jacob Black found out that his wife is cheating behind his back, he confronted her at a restaurant with one of her many paramours. Heated words were thrown like paper balls, followed by empty threats and then heavier ones, leading to a fight between lover and husband.
As Renesmee watched the brawl between two ego-driven blockheads, she decided that it's probably high time that she finally spread her wings and be on her own. Besides, being with Jacob Black is getting boring, and boredom always gets to her nerves. But she knew deep, deep down, that her husband will never let her go. The man's obsessed with her to the point of humiliating himself in public.
I'll let you go, all right, over my dead body, he once said.
