This was the moment of truth and Holmes silently berated himself for not seeing it before.
Watson's grip on Mary's hand was starting to become loose. Beads of sweat permeated on his palms and he looked as if he were ready to pass out.
Mary was as focused as ever as she radiated a glow that made others around her smile. This was her wedding day and nothing could get better than that.
Then the priest made the customary announcement. "If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Then it all happened at once. They were all in sync with each other. Mary turned her head to the crowd behind her and Watson, looking to make sure no one would ruin this day. Holmes started easing out of his seat.
And Watson spoke. "I do."
