Chapter One
The scene was perfect. Mid-June. The sun had just set and many sat eating there diner in the towns famous, and not to mention fancy, restaurant. The soft clinging of silver ware and quiet chatter blended in with the soft violin in the background, making it the perfect, peaceful environment. Waiters bustled around with plates in hand, one in particular placing two plates in front of a charming little couple as they smiled politely at the waiter before turning back to each other.
They talked quietly to one another and on first glance any one could tell they were a couple very much in love. The mans hand placed delicately on top of the girls as the ate there diner, often talking and laughing quietly with the other. As the diner was cleared, the man looked the girl into the eyes and spoke, hand still clasped in hers.
"Gabriella, I want to ask you something," he told her as he looked into her eyes lovingly. She smiled at him, urging him on as he kissed her hand gently. "Me and you have been together for over a year now and I think it's time me and you take the next step."
Gabriella looked at the man in front of her confusedly as he scooted him chair closer to her, grabbing her other hand and rubbing his thumb over them as they rested in her lap.
"You're smart. You're beautiful. You're everything I could every ask for in life. Everything I could ever dream of. You're amazing and I would do anything for you. If you'll please let me spend the rest of my life I'll show you exactly how much of an amazing person you are. I love you Gabriella. And I really do want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Gabriella gasped in shock as he went down on one knee and dug in his pocket, retrieving a small box. He opened it to exposed a diamond ring. Many onlookers smiled at the young couple as tears rushed into the young girls eyes.
"Gabriella baby, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my bride, my wife, my future, and my everything. Will you marry me?" He smiled nervously at as she sat, speechless. She tried talking but no words seemed to come out as they all dissolved in the pits of her stomach. With her hand over her mouth, tears running down her face and no second thoughts she nodded her head and smiled as best as she could as sobs overwhelmed her.
The man on the ground smiled brightly up at her as he stood, pulling her up and kissing her deeply as soft applause rung around the room.
"I love you Gabriella," he whispered against her lips.
"And I love you Bryce," she whispered back.
It was perfect the perfect moment. Peaceful. Beautiful. But could it stay that way for long?
