I guess I should begin at the beginning, that is always a good place to start.
I was born in the little village of Crimerdona, just east of Agrademdon, the capital of Terra. The youngest of 14 children I was often doted on by my mother. I was labeled her 'favorite' by my brothers, for I was one of the few left alive, and the only girl.
War raged across the land.
Food was scarce as were the burial grounds for the dead.
The wounded filled the streets with their howls of agony, and colored the waters red with their blood.
Their precious life giving blood that I was all too soon to learn the importance that it played in life.
But then, that part comes later.
I remember when I was eight- it seems like such a short time ago instead of the centuries it has become. I was playing with my dolls in the street, little crude hand made dolls, when my mother suddenly snatched me off the ground and flung me into the hay loft, biding my to lay still and quiet. Then I heard the voices of the soldiers, rough, cruel demanding to know where I was. Then my mothers' voice telling the men that I had died in the plague like four of my brothers and an Uncle. Then the sounds of fist on flesh pounding repeatedly, my mothers broken sobs and an angry shout from Benjamin, the second eldest, a horses' whinny and then silence. Then I could heard the squeak of leather and the pounding of hooves that marked their departure. It was hours before some one came for me. I never moved, fear held me frozen, as did the icy wind blowing through the stable. When I entered the house I learned that Benjamin had died, had died protecting my mother who was only trying to protect me.
And even at eight I was filled with such rage, a rage that filled my soul and turned my vision red with inner fury. At that point, that very moment I vowed that I would get revenge on him, HIM, for all who had died because of his fury.
It was that very night that we left. My mother said it was no longer safe for me, then I didn't know why. Then I didn't know about the prophecies.
Then I didn't know my destiny.
