Title: A Dream
Rating: T
Summary: After reading the sixth book in only one hour, young Mikazuki was tired. The words were blurring together in her head. She had no idea that it was a bad idea to read that book right before bed. This is the result.
An: This is based off of a dream I had last year after reading the sixth book straight before I went to sleep. It's not as bad as when I read Frankenstein right before going to Florida at age eight.
Pov: Mikazuki
I just started the sixth book in my favorite series, 'The 39 Clues'. What only seemed like ten minutes later my mom entered my room.
"Mikazuki, it's time for you to stop reading and go to sleep. It's nine o'clock." My mom informed me just as I finished the last line in the book. I close the book and set it down on my over crowded book shelf.
"I'm done with it, Mom." I respond, as I motion for her to leave so I can get ready for bed. In peace.
"Okay, Boo. Night." She leaves my room after saying that. I quickly get ready, wanting to get to sleep knowing I finished that book in record time.
After changing into my favorite pale blue nightgown, I turn the lights off, set my I-pod to sixty minutes, and went to sleep.
At first my dream started out with sheer nothingness, then I suddenly find myself on the roof of my school. I blink trying to focus. It was cold out and the helicopter was only making it colder by it propellers moving. I hear gunshots fired and streams of cussing. It was enough to make my head spin.
I hear someone shout something behind me and I run, trying to get away from the person. Just when I thought it was safe to rest, a man dressed from head to toe in black grabbed my wrist.
"Follow me." He said in what sounded like an old man's voice. I try to break free but he just drags me across the roof. Time seemed to stop as we approached a brick wall.
He touched a certain brick and disappeared into the wall. I blinked my eyes in shock, trying to figure out how he did it.
Suddenly, an object shot out of the wall and grabbed my wrist. I wasn't sure if the object was a balloon or a human hand. I gasp and woke up.
I looked around and found that I was safe at home, in my bed and not on the roof of my school. I think I won't ever read a book that fast before bed, especially one filled with character death.
