Mello sat alone in his room, it was cold and dark but he didn't care, he had messed everything up, he had told his best friend he hated him. He could feel the tears stinging his eyes but he wiped them away. He wasn't going to cry. He couldn't cry.
Mello looked out the window. It was raining, the sky's where gray with storm clouds. Mello couldn't help but think how amazing it all looked despite the dark feeling it gave off.
The door opened and Mello turned his attention to it. It was Matt. Matt just stood there for a second then, he turned to walk off.
"Wait!" Mello cried jumping off the bed.
"What do you want?" Matt asked looking back at Mello. Mello could see the hurt and sadness in Matt's eyes.
"I'm sorry." Mello said, his voice was no louder then a whisper. "I….I didn't mean it. I was just really angry…I didn't mean to hurt you Matt." Mello looked at the floor, he could feel tears welling up again and he didn't want Matt to see.
"But why did you say it?" Matt asked, not bothering to hide the sadness in his voice. "I mean you could of taken it out on anyone, so why me?"
"I don't know." Mello said honestly. He didn't know for sure why, but he had an idea as to why. But he was never going to tell Matt.
"That's it? You don't know?" Matt asked. Mello just gave a small nod. "Unbelievable." Matt sighed and he left.
Mello feel to his knees and he began to cry. His chest hurt, it felt as if someone had punched him right in the heart. He didn't care if someone saw him cry, he really didn't care.
"I'm sorry Matt." Mello sobbed. "I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry." He had never felt so sad and so hurt in his life. The one person he had feelings for, the one person he was willing to give up everything for, and he had ruined it before he had even told him.
"Don't be sorry." Mello's head shoot up as he heard Matt. The door was open just a crack and Matt was standing there. "I-I'm sorry too." Matt said. "I should have known you didn't mean it."
Matt stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. But he kept his back against the door.
"Mello I have something I want to tell you." Matt said looking down at his feet. "T-the thing is….I…...I…I really like you." Matt said quietly, so quiet Mello almost missed it.
"What?" Mello asked.
"I-I know its weird, and you will most likely hate me, but…..I really like you." A small blush coloured Matt's cheeks. Mello got up and hugged the red head.
"I like you too." Mello said. Matt was a little shocked at first, but then he smiled. He put his arms around Mello to return his hug.
"Thank you Mello." Matt whispered.
"Why are you thanking me?" Mello couldn't help but ask. He pulled away from the red head slightly to look at him.
"Thank you for not breaking my heart." Matt said and he placed a soft kiss on the blonde's lips. Mello's eyes widened, but then he started to kiss Matt back.
They both pulled apart and looking into each others eyes.
"I love you Matt." Mello whispered. Matt smiled.
"I love you too Mello." Matt said and he placed another soft kiss on Mello's lips.
