I don't own Hawaii Five-0. This is my first story so please be nice
He was really starting to annoy Danny. And it was a known fact that when Danny was annoyed everyone heard about it, starting with Steve.
"Have you noticed something?" Danny piped up all of a sudden.
"Well, yes Danny I notice a lot of things. It's how I solve murders." Steve replied keeping his eyes on the road.
"Ok, first off it's how WE solve murders. Not just you. WE solve murders."
Steve sighed; this was going to be a long day. Mind you now that he thought about it most days with Danny were long. Danny continued as if nothing had happened.
"Have you noticed…that you never spend any time with Kono?" Steve snapped his head towards Danny so fast that he thought he may end up with whiplash.
"Wha…what are you on about? I see Kono all the time, just as much as I see all of Five-0!"
"C'mon Steven, you honestly can't believe that. I mean we are pretty much married!" Before Steve had a chance to comment on that ridiculous statement, Danny continued. Apparently he was on a role, "Well we are. We see each other all the time. I was living on your couch for heaven's sake! You go spear fishing with Chin, you go running with Lori. Hell you even spend time with Max outside of work!"
Steve glared out at the road as if it was the cause of all the accusations being thrown at him, instead of one of his closest friends. Danny was being ridiculous! Sure things had been strained ever since Kono lost her badge, the Delano thing they hadn't talked as much as they once had but she just needed time is all. He was just giving her the space she needed, surely Danny could understand that. But that didn't mean they didn't hang out like everyone else!
Danny couldn't believe how dense his partner was being. All of the team had been riddled with guilt when it came to Kono's situation.
"Look, I am just worried about her. She hasn't been the same since the IA mess and then going undercover. It changed her Steve, and let's face it we have been terrible friends. Neither of us apologised for not being there, we just left her. I wouldn't be surprised if she thought we just left her."
"I was in prison Danno! I wasn't really in any place to help anyone."
"Yes Steven. But we never went to see her! Chin is convinced that the only people she spoke to was him and those dirty cops!" Danny hadn't intended for this conversation to go this way. Chin had come to him a few days ago mentioning that Kono seemed to be the only member of Five-0 that had never spent any time with their fearless leader outside of work. There was no connection between the two. Before Steven had a chance to reply, his cell phone rang interrupting his train of thought.
"McGarrett. Yeah we will be right there." Steve hung up the phone, "We have a bombing at Holualoa."
