Chapter 1: Bedtime story

Ruby's P.O.V

Jack and I are now as happy as can be with our new life together as a married couple and as you can imagine it wasn't long before we heard the pitter patter of little boots. The twins, Sammy and Jackson, came nine months after our wedding. And they are so sweet, so precious, so cute… so loud! But we love them either way, they are also both little trouble makers. Which I guess is from jacks side of the family, jack begs to differ. Sammy is a daddy's girl at heart and Jackson is a mommy's boy. There both three years old at the moment and very difficult, but at the end of the day it's worth it. Somewhat.

"I'm not going to bed!" yelled Sammy "I'm not! I'm not!"

"You should have been in bed ten whole minutes ago, young lady!" I called after her as I chased her around the deck of the black pearl.

"NOOOO!" she whined.

Jack came in holding a kicking Jackson and looked at me. "You still haven't caught her yet?"

"No" I sighed.

Jackson kicked his father in the stomach causing jack to put him down. Jackson started running around with his sister.

I was at my wit's end. "Okay" I said "if you two aren't in bed by the time I count to five, no story tonight! 1! 2! 3..."

They ran for their room as they yelled "count slower, mummy!"

"…4! 5!" I yelled coming into the room.

They sat in their big kid beds side by side.

"Can we have a story mum?" asked Jackson.

"I don't know" I said tapping my chin and coming into the room "you were a little slow getting into bed."

"You also kicked me in the stomach!" said jack sitting on Sammy's bed, still rubbing his gut where Jackson kicked him.

"Please!" they whined.

"Fine, fine" I caved "which story?"

"The one where mommy met daddy!" said Jackson.

"No!" cried Sammy "that one's so mushy!"

"Yeah, but it's funny when daddy tells it" said Jackson he turned to jack "tell it!"

Jack smirked "alright you asked for it, once upon a time…"

"When daddy was young and dinosaurs roamed the earth" Sammy added giggling.

"There were no dinosaurs!" jack said pushing her back onto her pillow then he continued "I had just made it to port royal in my sinking dingy."

"Haha! Dingy!" teased Jackson.

Jack smirked "and as we know there isn't a women alive who can resist the charming ways of captain jack sparrow." He smiled at me.

I rolled my eyes

"Almost as soon as I walked up the docks, this girl with the most beautiful face I've ever seen…"

The kids gagged obnoxiously as I laughed.

"…threw herself at me" jack finished.

"What!?" I yelled throwing a pillow at him which he dodged.

"Yep, that's what happened!" he told the kids "she was a maniac! Completely obsessed with me!"

"I was not!" I cried "I didn't throw myself at you!"

"Yes, you did, luv" jack teased "and you can't prove that you didn't!"

I smirked "kids! Dog pile on daddy!"

"What!" jack said as the kids jumped and crawled on him.

"Ruby! Ruby! Get them off!" he yelled as he struggled against them.

"Nighty night!" I called closing the door so no one could hear him scream.
