Cath's POV
When I was a child, I always wished for a puppy. Every single birthday, I prayed for it. I prayed to come my dream a true. But that never happened. I could be the bestes small girl in the whole world. I could behave like an angel but every single year, my heart was shattered and I've started losing faith in the god and my parents. I think that's where I'd started being rebellious child who had become a rebellious young woman. The young woman who left her parent's house to become an independent person.
It was my birthday again but I didn't want a puppy anymore. Now, I'm a grown up person who can dream almost about everything. I'd been grateful for so many things in my life these days. Lindsay, my smart and pretty daughter, my mom, my great career, and what was more important, I could be grateful for a fantastic guy in my life. The guy who had a power to make me feel like a princess. He held on his promise he gave me almost two decades ago.
It's six o'clock in the morning and I'm finally home after a long shift. I know that I have to do the house chores before I can go to bed but it doesn't matter now. When I'm slowly walking through the house to the kitchen, I suddenly caught a glimpse of something that wasn't here before. It was a small package which was somehow strange. When I'm walking closer to the table so I could look at it, I can see why it looked a bit strange to me. The package is moving. I don't know what to think about it. I'm not sure what to do with it even though the person in me which is curious. I peek at the package and I can see a note written in big letters.
"Open me!"
I'm studying it for several next minutes but finally I give up. I pick up the package carefully and start opening it. I wind down a lilac ribbon from it and open the box. I can't be more surprised than I am because my old dream has come true now. I'm looking down on a small white creature which is looking up at me. I received a gift for which I prayed all my childhood. I received a white fluffy puppy with beautifully bluish eyes. I take it carefully into my hands and let my eyes roaming over the puppy. I'm trying to figure out who could give it to me. I'm asking it what's its name, even though I know it's not going to answer me. But the puppy is trying to get my attention and it's tugging on its collar with a name tag. The name which is written on the tag, is Stephanie. Someone named my puppy Stephanie. After my best friend who died twenty years ago. It was a bad day for me but also one of the most important days of my life because I met a love of my life.
I know only one person who could use this name for my dog. Gil Grissom was only one person who knew about these both things. Only her lover could do this for her like a reminder of her cherished memories.
