If You Come With Me Then I Can Show You (Prologue)

Looking in the mirror she wondered how played out it would be to say that she didn't recognize her reflection.

Perhaps it was the pale lavender color of her hair, the lack of the heavy bags underneath her eyes, or perhaps it was the plain black uniform that covered her body.

In this house there is no room for envy! This is why we wear uniforms!

"Not this house." Amethyst muttered as she neatly pulled her hair into a ponytail.

No, not this house, Amethyst. This house is our home, a judgement free zone where you do what you do, be, look however you please. But this house, the house of our Lord and Savior, this house has no room for envy. No room for hate, selfishness, or… evil. There is no room for Evil here.

Amethyst turned away from the mirror and put on the necklace with the lone star hanging from it's chain, as she boredly looked at the florescent red color digits of her alarm clock.

11:50

She was running later than she thought, but it was like Rose said, If you're running late, don't rush. It's not as if you can be late twice. Sighing she turned from the alarm clock and left the bedroom walking into large common area of The Temple.

Heh. That name still got her.

THE TEMPLE!

This was hardly a temple, it was in reality just a large house that just so happened to be attached to a decent sized chapel.

Well that wasn't exactly true, it was home. A real home unlike the ones she had been taken to in the past. It was a safe place and Rose took in almost everyone. There were some exceptions of course.

Racists not welcome. Rapists not welcome. Abusers not welcome.

But that didn't change how Rose tried her hardest to show love to everyone and anyone that had entered their home, even if they ultimately decided not to be a member of her congregation. But none of that really mattered, at least not to her. All that stuff was Pearl and Rose's job not her's.

Stopping in front of the large wooden doors that led to the chapel she took a deep breath as she looked at the stained glass star that rested above it. It always felt strange to cross that six inch threshold into the chapel. Perhaps it was because she didn't entirely believe in Rose's desire to fight the evils of the world with love, her not feeling like a proper member of the congregation or Rose's family, or perhaps it was something else. Though she was truly unsure of what that might be.

Slowly opening the door she ignored the glare she received from Pearl, as she crept in and quickly found an empty space on the pews lining the sides of the chapel walls, as Rose flashed her a kind smile before she continued her sermon.

"They seem to act as if I stand here," Rose stepped from behind and waved her right at it, as if she were putting it on display, "right here, behind this podium and scream at the top of my lungs,"

"I LOVE LUCIFER AND I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU! EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!" She roared her back hunched over as spittle flew from her mouth and sprayed the steps before the alter. Her hands curled up and her arms bent and held close to her body as if they she were some sort of monster, ever eager to separate your soul from it's mortal coil.

"When in reality," She whispered as she slowly straightened her back and held put her arms and open palms in full display of her congregation, "All I do is share my love with you." She closed her eyes and pressed her palms to her chest as she slowly toed her way down the alter. "All this love, all this love I have deep in my soul. It…it is all for you." She spread her arms and knelt down before opening her arms as she beckoned her awestruck flock towards her, "Every last one of you."
