Tony, as he is always doing on a very slow day, is sitting back, in his chair, thinking about useless things. Suddenly, his mind notices a trend between himself and his friends. He suddenly sits up, holding up a pen, as though coming to a conclusion of epic proportions. Across from him, Ziva looks up, lifting a brow.
Knowing he's going to speak, she sighs. "Yes, Tony?"
"Ziva.. notice anything funny about our names? Well, you and Vance aren't included.. but the rest of us."
McGee looks up as Ziva gains a thoughtful look. "They.. are.. all..." She pauses, then looks up at Tony again. "No, I do not."
"Doubles." At Ziva's look of confusion, Tony continues. "They all have double letters in them! I mean, think about me. Me, 'zz' in DiNozzo. Tim has two e's in his last name. Gibbs has two b's. Abby has two b's. Ducky's last name has two l's. Jimmy, 'mm'. Even Kate had two d's in her last name, and Director Shepherd, Jenny, two n's. Has nobody noticed this before?" He looks around at his two coworkers.
"You know.. I never noticed that," McGee says, raising his brows in a confirming expression. "That's pretty cool."
"Only you would notice this, Tony," Ziva says, but smiles.
"It's called a keen eye," Tony replies, leaning back in his seat.
Ziva just chuckles and returns to her work. "No, it is because you are used to doubles."
"Yeah? How?"
"You are a double-duh."
