Valentine Fluff Competition: Hard - RemusAndromeda. Prompt - Chocolate

Remus' eyes were wide at the note that was attached to the chocolates he had received.

"Who do you have there, Moony?" Sirius asked.

Remus tried to hide it, but Sirius was too quick and snatched the note away. "Sirius, don't," he begged, but he knew it was no use.

"Let's see," Sirius announced. "Prongs, listen to this. Dearest Remus, I wanted to tell you that I think you're so attractive. There's a quiet dignity that surrounds you that draws me, like a moth to a flame. When I see you, my heartbeat is erratic, as if I have run a marathon. I don't know if I'd ever have the courage to tell you to your face, but I like you so much. I know that chocolate is your favorite thing, so I hope you enjoy your gift. Love..." He trailed off.

"Well, who's it from," James eagerly asked.

Sirius looked over at Remus who was slouched down in his seat. "I didn't read the whole thing to myself. I thought for sure it would have 'your secret admirer' at the end. Not the actual name."

Remus shrugged. "I guess she wanted me to know it was actually her even if she didn't want to tell me to my face."

"Hello, who's it from?" James asked.

Sirius ignored him. "You know, out of my whole family, she's probably the best one. Even if she is a Slytherin."

"I know," Remus agreed. "She's smart and pretty. She's kind and loyal. And I've seen her talking to others. She doesn't share your family's prejudices. She might wear green, but she's a lot like you when it comes to having an open mind."

"Family? Slytherin? What's going on?" James bellowed.

Remus turned around to stare at the snake table. The one he was looking for wasn't there. He stood up.

"Moony!" James whined. He really hated being ignored.

"You explain it to James," Remus ordered before he picked up the chocolate and card and left the Great Hall. He searched the whole school, but he couldn't find her. The only place he didn't try was the library.

He shrugged to himself. It was worth a try. Remus stepped in the sanctum that Ravenclaws used to hide away from everything and everyone. He smiled at Madam Pince who only glowered in return. He walked through the aisles and stopped next to the Transfiguration section at the sight of a girl sitting on the floor, a book opened on her lap as she read it.

He licked his suddenly dry lips as he walked over to her. "Hi."

Andromeda looked up, startled. "Did you come here to reject me in person?"

Remus sat down next to her. "I think you know me better than that. I don't really like confrontations. If I wasn't interested in you..." He trailed off, waiting for her to finish it.

Andromeda smiled. "...you'd ignore me and act like you never got my gift or card."

"So, the fact that I found you should pretty much tell you everything."

"So, you like me too?" Andromeda asked hopefully. She reached up and brushed some of the long strands of her brunette hair back.

Remus swallowed. "I'm not really good with words. Sirius and James are the ones who know how to charm girls."

Andromeda laughed. "Really? Because I'm sure Evans has a different idea when it comes to Potter being charming."

Remus chuckled. "Maybe, but he's still better at it than me."

"I already like you. You don't need to work that hard," she murmured, leaning closer to him.

Remus felt his heart pick up tempo as her breath ghosted over his lips. "I like you, too," he softly admitted.

Andromeda smiled. "Good," she answered before she sealed her lips over his.

It was the best kiss Remus had ever experienced.
