It shouldn't feel as comfortable as it does. Don slings his arm around her waist, squeezing slightly, and she looks sideways at him, a grin on her face. There's nothing forced about the smile, it's as real as any she gave him when they were still together.
He guides her forward onto the dance floor and she shifts into his arms. They fit together perfectly, two jigsaw pieces sliding into place.
"Who'd have thought?" Liz whispers into his ear, and he has to agree.
They fit together, and he knows if he still wants more, it's here waiting for him.
