May Twenty-Eighth
Dear Journal,
Today I watched my children get married. It was a happy day as I walked my daughter up to her now husband. I never thought I would live to see the day when my children would marry. Mind you journal that I have had a very stressful life. I was happy with Angela and Charlotte. When Red John killed them, I didn't know what to do. But low and behold my wife, the beautiful Teresa Jane, saved me from doing anything rash. It is funny, that after so many years, She was there offering me an orange and friendship.
It is interesting that we met for the first time since fifth grade in my backyard after the murder of my first family. She provided me the strength I needed to move on with my live. Mind you that Teresa was my first love. Funny how a elementary school crush can turn into a deep and endless love. I am glad we met up again all those years ago in my back yard. Teresa is an ever present reminder that happy endings do happen. I am so grateful she agreed to marry me and I am so glad we were able to have a family.
Back to today though. After the newly weds danced with their parents, everyone was allowed to dance with who they wanted. My wife, bless her, was dragged away to dance with not only Cho, but Rigsby, Minelli, LaRoche, Lucilla's husband, Bosco's two sons and Lizzy's husband. Finally she was able to get back to our table. After a few minutes the song "Little Bitty Pretty One" Came on over the speakers. "Care to dance my dear" I asked Teresa. "You know I do." She took my hand and I lead her onto the dance floor and started to dance. When our children saw us get up to dance they started to laugh and dragged their other halfs onto the dance floor. The Rigsby family and the Cho Family followed them and we all danced. Halfway through the song I noticed our twelve year old, Brom dancing with Cho's youngest daughter, Eliose. I caught Teresa's eye and slightly nodded in Brom's direction. She looked and smiled. I then did a quick scan and noticed our adopted triplets, Arther, Bryce, and Walter, dancing with three young girls. I tried to locate my youngest daughter, Alice, with out success.
This made me sigh with happiness. "My dear, we have a very large family." I said to her as I gestured to everybody on the dance floor and gesturing towards the Minellis, The LaRoches, The Hightowers, and The Bosco's. "I Know. Why do you think we have severely depleated funds around birthdays and Holidays."
"Hmmm….." We soon left after that with five out of seven children in our astro van.
We settled into our evening routine and now here I sit in bed writing in you, journal.
Anyway, That was today's musings.
Yours Truly,
Patrick Jane
