Chapter One: Adventurous Night and a Dark Stranger
Footsteps echoed throught the alley ways as a young woman runs frightened through the darkness. Her face is streaked with salty rivers, her eyes threaten to spill over with each passing step. Blinded by the tears, she runs unknowingly into the dangers of the alley.
A group of men circle around her, catcalling, acting like wolves getting ready for the kill. Trying to call for help, she is thrown to the ground from a stinging blow. The sky darkens from the oncoming rain, which outlines her frail form as it lays against the pavement. The leader approaches from the darkness, issusing orders, as he kneels to inspect the delicious prize in front of him.
"Let me go.....please!" He watches as she stands up before laughing at her feeble plea. He moved towards her, unknowingly cornering her against the brick wall. Lightening lit up the sky, illuminating his face, reflecting his lust filled eyes. Too distraught and tired to fight, she closed her eyes dreading the man's intentions.
Her eyes flew open in fear as he pressed against her. She tensed as he bent to her ear, "Why don't you be nice and show me a good time?" Her mouth went dry and she closed her eyes in prayer, as he licked her ear down to her pulse point.
Tears ran down her cheeks as his hands cupped her breasts through her shirt and began to fondal them before he was violently yanked away. Opening her eyes, she discovered a man, dressed in black, standing in front of her.
Looking around, she found men laying scattered on the ground, unconcious. Turning back to the moment at hand, she found her attacker pinned to the wall be her savior. " You think messing with defenseless women is entertaining? Then, let me help you with that assessment."
She watched as he reached into his cloak, pulling out an elaborately decorated dagger and positioned it at the man's throat. Afraid for what was going to happen, she ran to them and placed a small, delicate hand upon her savior's arm.
"Please don't kill him, even though he deserves it. Just ma...." She collapsed upon the ground from the stress and fatigue that weighed against her body. Glancing at her sympathetically, he turned back to her tormentor.
"Your lucky. I will spare your life for her sake." The man spit into his face and snarled, "Yea. Well next time I'll get her and you won't be around to stop me." He glared at him, before replying.
"Adrian's my name and make sure you don't forget it. For when you cross her path, you will die by my hand." With that said, he struck the man's head with the dagger hilt, knocking him unconcious.
He picked up the young woman and started his trek to his home, with her safely asleep in his arms.
