How The Death of Lloyd Ventrix Should Have Ended

"Lloyd!" Helen's voice rang out, getting his attention. She was standing right behind him, aiming her gun at him.

"Helen?! What are you d—?"

"Shut up, Lloyd! Tell me where Kimberly is!"

"What?" Lloyd questioned.

"You heard me, Lloyd!" Helen ordered, still pointing the gun to him. "If you don't tell me where Kimmy is, I will pull the trigger!"

Lloyd, having no choice, looked at the entrance Helen came through where he put a still-unconscious Kimberly. He ran to Kimberly, held her tight as if he was hugging her, and ran to a ledge of the roof.

"Lloyd, what are you doing?" Helen asked, voice shaking.

"Kimberly is my daughter," Lloyd answered. "And I'm never letting you take her away from me again."

As he said this, Kimberly started to come to.

"Lloyd, no!" Helen shouted, her gun trembling.

As Lloyd was about to jump off the ledge, Kimberly screamed, pushing him, making him lose his balance. With nobody to help pull him back, Lloyd fell stories below to his death, giving one last scream.

Realizing what she did, Kimberly rushed over to the ledge and watched in horror. She couldn't believe it. Kimberly had accidentally murdered her own father. She then dropped to her knees and burst into tears as Batman lept back onto the roof. Helen hugged her still-crying daughter in comfort.

"It's okay, Kimmy," she whispered. "It's okay."

Later that night, on the ground, Helen watched as Batman put Kimberly into the Batmobile.

"Where are you going to take her?" she asked.

Batman answered, "To an old family friend of mine, so she can recover from the traumatizing event she caused. It may take a year, but she'll help your daughter back to sanity."

Helen looked behind herself.

"I still can't believe she did it to her own father," she said. "Now we won't be able to move after all, and I still can't get that painful memory out of my head."

"Don't worry, Mrs. Ventrix," Batman assured. "You'll see her again."

"I sure hope so," Helen replied.

The Batmobile drove off, leaving Helen behind. Sad and lonely that their move had been cancelled, she still remembered her daughter, and would never forgive or forget her now-deceased ex-husband, or what he almost did to Kimberly. In the end, Lloyd made one last disappearing act-the one that claimed his life.
