I looked around the room, listening to Onuki's constant complaining and bickering about how I 'wasn't allowed in this room' and how I was 'stepping out of line as a representative.'
Stepping out of line my ass. He was only mad that my old leader bested him in combat however many years ago and the fact that I was a women, now running the one town he wanted to get his greedy hands on. I looked around the room, watching the leaders of each village bicker, the older generations going at it like cats and dogs, tempers flying and voices rising like I was a child playing with a sound system. Ironically, the two "children" as Onuki so eloquently put it, were the only ones still holding their cool. Gaara, the recently names Sand Shadow sat around the room, occasionally catching my eye and if I wasn't so sure, seemed to be waiting for me to do something. Like he had a plan, slowly forming in his mind but wasn't sure what card I was bringing to the table yet. I had planned to let them go at it, stepping in when the majority of the bickering was over but that in itself seemed like a long shot as one would set off the next and we'd be back at it all over again.
"Shadows," I sighs, looking around the room, causing a few of the heads to turn, the body guards but not the ones I wanted. "Shadows," I try louder, still finding the same result and stand "You guys, can we please focus on the task at hand?" I ask, getting the attention of the water and lightning shadow, and just when I was thinking I was getting some where Onuki started up again. I'd planned to do this civilized, like my father would have wanted but I'd had enough, grabbing a large metal ball beside my chair and slam it on the table.
"Onuki!" the sound echoed through the room, breaking the noise and the peace as all body guards jumped up, weapons turned to each other as all eyes turned to me. Each one waiting for me or each other to do something, I caught Gaara's eyes from across the room, a small smile on his lips as he once again waits. I sighed, flipping my hair back and turn to look at the source of the problem.
"Stone Shadow. If there is something personal you would like to discuss with me, I would be more than happy to do it outside in a private matter. But weather you like it or not, I AM the head master of Talki-nago village and I DEMAND to be treated with the same respect that you show every one else." I had slammed my hands on the table once more on demand, looking at the annoyed face of an old enemy "I have stood by long enough as others suffered at the hands of brainless idiots who care about nothing but furthering their own power. The last leader made a mess of my town and hurt many people in it. Make no mistake, no matter what happens here today, I intend to clean it up." I had moved around the table, walking across the room so I was face to face with Onuki, looking him in the eyes so he knew how serious I was before speaking in a quite venomous tone. "So if you can not put your personal feelings aside, then you need to step down and send in someone who can."
