The bright sunlight hit my face as i stood in the garden, my garden. My mom was watching from inside, washing the plates in the kitchen, smiling at me through the window. I smiled back and waved, watching her carefree laugh echo through-out the house.
I began to strum the strings on my guitar, testing what sounded good and what didn't. I smiled as i found a DEF chord that sounded perfect with my other chords, and i began to smile up at my mom, but her expression had changed. She was alarmed now, looking over her shoulder and staring back at me, terror in her eyes. Some kind of gun was being held behind my mom, and before i could say anything, she shut the blinds and i couldnt see anything.
"MOM!" I screamed, but my voice was muffled by a hand slamming over my mouth "No! No! No!" i trashed and writhed against the evil stranger! "NO!" "Hallie! Hallie! Wake up!" someone shouted, shaking me. "NO!" i screamed, fighting against them "GET OFF ME! YOU WON'T TAKE ME AWAY! YOU WON'T!"
"Hallie, calm down! Its me!" they pushed me onto the grassy floor "Its me calm down!"
"Whats going on?" another man croacked groggily.
"I don't know...she began screaming..i think she had a bad dream..."
"GET AWAY FROM ME! DON'T TOUCH ME!" I continued to struggle against them, hitting and slapping and doing anything i could to survive. They wouldn't take me away, not at least without a fight.
"Hal, calm down, its me, Jeb. Calm down, your safe here." Jeb soothed, and gently pulled Jamie's arms off me. I realized where i was then, and i began to feel embarrased, but i was so over thrown by grief, i couldn't feel anything but agonizing pain of remembering. "I miss her so much" i cried, sobbing into my hands. "Its ok Hal" Jamie murmured and threw his arms around me "We all know what it feels like to lose family."
I nodded and continued crying into his shoulder.
"You got this?" Jeb whispered, already standing.
"Yeah, i think so" Jamie replied and Jeb slowly walked away.
"Err...you ok?" he asked awkwardly.
"Yeah..i'm sorry..." i mumbled, sniffling and wiping at the tears on my cheek.
A few moments of silence.
"So...what were you dreaming about?" he asked, his arm still lightly on my shoulder.
"Oh, it was nothing really.."
"Nothing really?" he repeated incredolously "You were screaming and fighting and crying! I wouldn't say thats 'nothing really'" he laughed.
"I was just...i dreamt that they were capturing me and my Mom"
"They?"
"The Seekers" i shuddered. Jamie thought it was because of my lack of heat and tightened his hold on me, which i didnt mind, but i felt a bit guilty.
"I know. They're pretty horrible."
"Can we not talk about it? Unless you really want to see me in hysterics" i laughed shakily.
"Oh yeah sure. So what do you want to talk about?"
"I don't know."
Silence.
"I think i'll be able to sleep now" i said casually, looking up at him.
"Um yeah sure. I'll go back to my bed" he mumbled and shifted away. "Night." "Night, Jamie." And i slowly fell into a dreamless sleep. Luckily.
